Chapter 14

                                    

                                          
You turn your attention back to the Chitauri landing on the bridge and approaching you, Rogers and Romanoff. They start to shoot towards you. You run towards them, holding your swords down by your side, along with Rogers, Romanoff keeps her distance and shoots at them from afar, taking a few out as you get closer to them. You swing one of your swords up and hit the gun out of a Chitauri's hand. You swing back down with the same sword and cut off its arm. Swinging the same sword back up, you decapitate it and continue to run forward. A Chitauri runs at you, holding a staff above its head. It strikes down and you block it with your sword. Another Chitauri starts to run at you from your left-hand side. You swing your other sword up to block the strike from its staff also. Rogers notices you taking on two Chitauri and runs over, after knocking out the one he is fighting. He runs over and strikes one of them with his shield, freeing up your other hand, you swing the sword around and stab the Chitauri through the chest. The Chitauri drops its staff and keels over onto your sword. You pull your sword out of its chest and it drops to the ground. 
                          
"Impressive.", Rogers says to you, impressed by your swordsmanship. 
                          
"You're not too bad yourself.", you reply to Rogers as you chuckle. You hear Romanoff continuing to shoot at the Chitauri as they approach from the other end of the bridge. 
                          
"Guys...", Romanoff yells. You and Rogers turn around and run back towards Romanoff. Rogers runs ahead of you and jumps onto the roof of a car and takes out a few Chitauri with his shield. You run towards two Chitauri who are both holding staffs. They swing their staffs up to strike at you. You block both of them with your swords and use your own momentum to push past them. You swing your swords backwards and strike them both in the chest. You quickly remove your swords from them, twirl around and decapitate both in one quick swipe of your sword. 
                          
"Whatever you were planning to do with those seeds, I suggest you do it now.", Romanoff suggests to you, as you all notice another wave of Chitauri headed your way. 
                          
"What do you mean, Agent Romanoff?", Rogers asks. You smile at him and wink at Romanoff.
                          
You slide one sword back in the sheath and continue holding the other. You walk behind an over-turned car and kneel down. Placing your hand on the ground, you close your eyes and think about Phil Coulson; particularly the day that he tested your powers. You start to feel the ground shake slightly. You put it down to Chitauri landing on the bridge and the numerous explosions happening around the city, but you start to hear Rogers yell your name faintly. 
                          
"Y/N. Y/N.", the yelling becomes louder as you open your eyes, "Y/N! What is this?" You open your eyes fully and look around to see Rogers standing on the car that you are knelt behind. 
                          
You stand up and look up at him, "What do you mean Captain?", you say, smiling at him. You know exactly what is happening. You walk out past the over-turned car and see that vines have successfully grown from the seeds that you scattered earlier. 
                          
"Wait, so you can grow plants too?", Rogers asks you, watching you as you walk to one of the vines and pick it up, testing its strength. 
                          
"So, you didn't tell Captain Rogers?", Romanoff asks you. 
                          
"I didn't feel the need to right away. Plus, he wanted me to prove to him that I am worthy to be on this team. So, Captain, am I worthy now?", you reply. Hearing an approaching noise at the end of the bridge, you turn around and assess the Chitauri incoming. You look over your shoulder at Rogers and Romanoff and smile at them, "Want to see something really cool Captain?" You kneel down next to some of the vines. Grabbing them in your hand, you look down the bridge and the incoming Chitauri running at you. You stare down the Chitauri and start to feel the vines moving under your grip. The vines start to shoot out towards the Chitauri, penetrating their chests and moving to the next one, taking them all out.
