"You ready yet?" Daniel asked from the bedroom and as if on cue, I walked out of the closet.

It's been three days since we got married and returned to Pennsylvania. Daniel's rejoing his office today and wants me to accompany him. He's introducing me to his staff today.

Since it's an important day for him and also my first time meeting his staff, I took extra long in deciding what to wear and getting ready, in general. It took me good 20 minutes to decide my final outfit. I was on a video call with Riya the whole time as I was very nervous.

I wore a white long-sleeves sweater top, a pair of leather pants and a grey flannel over coat. I wore a pair of basic white shoes and a grey purse with a watch. I wore some hoop earrings to complete the look. I left my hair open with a middle-partition.

I saw Daniel standing by the large window in our room as he was talking to someone on the phone. I approached him and as he sensed me nearing him, he turned around. His mesmerising blue eyes raked up and down my body, noticing every little detail. When he finally met my eyes, I raised my eyebrows and silently asked him about my look.

He easily encircled his hand around my waist since I was standing near him and bought me to his chest. I kept a hand around his shoulder and starred at the view in front of me, patiently waiting for him to finish his conversation. After a minute, he quickly cut the call and I turned towards him.

"Do I look good?"

"Yes but your lipstick's a bit smudged." He said and I frowned. I was wearing a very light layer of red lipstick and I remember doing it correctly.

"Really?" I said and ran my finger on the skin near my lips but got nothing.

"Here." He said as his thumb went over the left corner of my mouth. As soon as the pad of his thumb touched my lip, an involuntary shiver passed down my spine. I looked into his eyes and he did the same thing at the same time. I think he felt it too.

I gulped audibly and that broke our stare. He dropped his hand and said, "Done." I smiled at him, saying, "Thank you."

"Let's go, hmm?" He asked and I nodded my head.

The car stopped and Daniel got out of it. He then came by my side and open my door for me. He extended his hand for me and I took it with a smile, stepping out of the car. I turned and saw Daniel's office building. It was mostly made of glass and plywood with multiple floors. It was simple yet so magnificent. There were people coming out and going inside of it but they all stopped when they saw us, more like when they saw Daniel.

Daniel wrapped his hand around my waist and led me into his office. People started bowing their head and wishing him 'good morning' to which, he either nodded his head in acknowledgment or gave a glance to the person in a reply. Since our wedding was in news on most of the gossip magazines, some of his employees recognised me too. They nodded their head and wished me 'good morning'. I tried replaying to as many of them as I could but since Daniel was walking fast, I couldn't greet every single one of them.

Walking further in, I saw there were two elevators one of which was busy with people while the other one was empty. Daniel took the empty one and I realise it was his private elevator.

He pressed the button for the 54th floor and it was then when I realised how tall and big the building actually was. The private elevator was fast and we reached the designated floor in under 30 seconds. All the while Daniel kept his hand around me and his face was showing as less emotions as possible.

When the elevator stopped and we walked out of it, a woman in her early 40s approached us. She was dressed professionally in a skirt and shirt and was carrying an iPad and a folder in her hand. She was wearing heels, just like any other woman in the building, and had her hair tied in a low bun.

"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds." The woman said, as soon as we approached her.

"Morning, Mrs. Ryder." Daniel greeted back with a professional smile.

"Kia, this is Mrs. Ryder, an old friend and my assistant. Mrs. Ryder, as you know, this is my wife, Kiara Reynolds." Daniel introduced us both. Hearing Daniel say my name with his surname did things to my stomach but I kept an even face.

She extended her hand out and I took it with a smile.

"Nice to meet you." I said.

"Nice to meet you too, dear." Mrs. Ryder replied.

"Since she hasn't had her breakfast yet, please send some omelettes and toast in my office for Kiara. For me, a cup of my regular coffee will do." Daniel said and Mrs. Ryder nodded her head.

"Umm... Daniel? Can I talk to you for a second, please? Alone." I asked and he looked down at me with a confused look but nodded his head anyways.

"Yeah, sure. In my office." He said and kept his hand around my waist once again and led me to his office.
