A shaky breath escapes me as I tear my hand out of the web and dive into the ship, waiting for Mando to get through the opening before running towards the cockpit. We climb up the ladder and rush ourselves into the cockpit, attempting to shut the doors behind us.

The doors wouldn't shut completely due to the many little Krykna that were trying to crawl through the closing opening. Mando keeps shooting at the opening, but once the doors don't show any signs of closing properly, I shove him out of the way and take the job into my own hands. I lift my hands up and slam them together, using the force to slam the doors together, squishing the creatures that remained in the doorway. My hands shake as I stand there, my eyes glued to the now-closed doors.

"I hate it here," I mutter, shaking my head as I took another step away from the door.

"Me too," Mando mutters back as we both start to breathe normally again. He quickly slides into the pilot seat while I practically fall into the co-pilot seat, wanting to get off of this stupid planet as fast as we could. Mando and I had managed to fix the main hardware that we needed to get off of the planet, but we didn't cover everything. So, I could only hope that the Crest would actually fly for us.

"This better work," I mutter under my breath, watching as he started switching everything on. I could hear the engines whirr to life, but right as I had gotten a little too hopeful, something crashes right on top of the ship, and two large legs stab right through the glass cockpit. "Oh, I really fucking hate it here."

The oversized Krykna that was hovering over us pulls away for a few moments before jutting back over to us. It places its large mouth on the surface of the curved glass, showing off its sharp teeth while scraping them against the thin glass. I swallow hard, knowing that it was taking everything in me not to lose my shit right now.

Maker, I need to calm the fuck down before I actually lose it.

Red blaster shots soon start going off and before we know it, the large creature was slumping to the side, losing contact with the glass of the cockpit while falling completely limp. My eyes widen and my back seems to straighten out. I look over to Mando as he looks over to me and we both mutually nod, standing from our seats.

"Stay here," I say, gently picking the kid up and placing him near the feet of the frog lady. She nods at me and I turn back around to face Mando.

He opens the cockpit doors, standing still for a moment to make sure nothing jumped out at him. Once nothing comes out, we both make our way out of the cockpit and down to the main hangar. He slowly clears away the webs that littered the inside of the ship, taking slow and cautious steps as the baster shots continued to rain outside.

As we step back into the cold, a blaster shot goes off next to us and I instantly lift my lightsaber, ready to defend us in case we needed it. I look up to see a set of bright lights that were shining from a pair of large X-wings. Each light reflected against what was left of the Crest while the two New Republic pilots took down every little Krykna that was left to take down. I slowly lower my saber, but I still make sure to keep it ignited.

"Please tell me Leia told you to come back to save my ass," I say, looking up at the two pilots as they slowly lowered their large blasters. They both smile and nod their heads, a sense of pride filling their figures as they straightened their shoulders out.

"The senator ordered us to help you, Commander Dameron," the first pilot says, a content yet serious smile on his face.

"But we're going to have to admit that we were planning on helping you out regardless of the Senator's orders," the other pilot comments. I smile and let out a deep breath, knowing that I was going to have to thank Leia for saving my ass yet again.
