Chapter 11

                                    

                                          
You hit the metal floor of the boiler area, metal beams and glass falling on you and Romanoff. Banner falls close by too, stirring in pain. You try to get up but a glass shard as penetrated into your abdomen, you groan in pain. Laying back down slowly, you look over at Romanoff whose leg is trapped under a metal beam. She looks over at you, then down at where the glass has penetrated. 
                          
"You alright, Y/N?", she asks you.
                          
"I'll be okay.", you tell her, trying not to show too much pain on your face. Romanoff tries to pull her leg out from under the metal beam, but she struggles. You slowly start to roll over onto your back when you hear Fury over the earpiece, "Romanoff? Y/N?"
                          
"We're okay.", Romanoff replies. You both look over at Banner who is starting to act quite worryingly. He is panting and groaning. 
                          
"We're okay, right?", Romanoff asks Banner. He continues to groan in pain. You look back over at Romanoff; you know something is wrong. "Doctor?" Banner starts to groan louder.
                          
"Bruce?", you say. 
                          
"You got to fight it. This is just what Loki wants. We're going to be okay. Listen to me.", Romanoff tries to calm Banner down. 
                          
Two workmen start to run towards you, Romanoff and Banner, "Are you hurt?" You gesture to them to go away; you don't want them getting hurt. 
                          
"We're going to be okay. All right?", you try to comfort Banner. 
                          
"I swear on my life, we will get you out of this. You will walk away and never ever...", Romanoff tells Banner.
                          
Banner turns around and says in a monstrous voice, "Your life?" You look over at Romanoff with a scared and worried expression on your face. You hear Banner start to pant and groan more as he jolts up onto his knees. You watch as his shirt starts to tear and split as he continues to groan in pain. He then suddenly falls backwards off the ledge where you all landed and starts to turn green and grow even more, still groaning loudly.
                          
Banner turns around and looks at you and Romanoff. "Bruce?", Romanoff whispers, trying to see if any part of Banner is still left before he makes and inhuman groan and tears his shirt off and starts to fall into and smash things. 
                          
Romanoff quickly frees herself from the metal beam. You stand up as quickly as you can with your injury. You place your hand on the glass shard, ready to pull it out, when Romanoff grabs your hand, "Leave it in." You don't question her, and you leave it in. Banner starts to roar as you both jump down from the ledge and prepare yourselves to start running. You start to run up the stairs behind you, but Romanoff stops. You look back and she is looking at Banner hoping that the Hulk hasn't taken full control yet. Banner turns around and Romanoff senses that Banner is no more. The Hulk starts to run at you and Romanoff. You turn and continue up the stairs. Romanoff follows, but Hulk catches up too quickly and swipes at the stairs, taking them out. Romanoff jumps up to another ledge and away from Hulk's swings. You run up what is left of the stairs, out of Hulk's reach. As you continue to run around the boiler area, you hear Hulk snarling and roaring as he pulls down metal beams and grates. 
                          
"Y/N keep running.", you hear Romanoff yell. You don't hesitate and you keep running. 
                          
You feel a sharp stabbing pain where the glass shard still is in your abdomen. You stop for a moment; not hearing anything from the Hulk, you feel that you are a safe distance away and can stop. You lean up against the wall and look down at your wound. Blood is seeping through your shirt and down your pants. You touch around the wound, it's very tender and sore. How are you supposed to keep running like this? You stay leaning against the wall, focusing on your breathing. Last thing you need is another incident involving your powers.
