Before you read this chapter, I'm sorry if it's inaccurate. I'm 12. I've never gotten pulled over.

Jared's POV:

I need to apologize. I'm a horrible frien- family friend.

Nice save.

"IT'S NOT THE TIME FOR THIS!!" I screamed out loud. I don't care who hears me, I'm driving anyways. I bet someone would think I'm yelling at someone on the phone anyways.

Ok whatever.

I just ignored the voice, whipping a u-turn to get to Evans house.

I sped down the road, trying to go Sanic fast. Never mind. This is a bad time for meme references.

Shit. I see police lights behind me. I also hear sirens. I immediately pulled over to the side of the road and got out of my car, putting my hands up. My heart rate was through the roof right now.

"Sir, calm down." The cop said, stepping out of the car. "Do you realize that you were going 73 miles per hour on a road with a 50 speed limit?" Oh god that's fast. "I'm very sorry officer. My boyf- My friend was in danger and I wanted to get to him as fast as possible." I don't know why I slipped up so badly on my words.

Did you just...

Yes.

"You're going to have to give me your full name and home address." He said, walking up to me with a small note pad. I watched as he tapped the back of my car. I'm not sure why, but he did. "Jared Lee Kleinman. I live at 420 East Pine Avenue." (I'm very sorry for that address lmao) He jotted down something in his notebook.

"And your license?" He said, not looking up, but holding a hand out. I pulled the small piece of plastic and placed it in his outstretched hand. He looked at it, the back at me, then back at it, then back at me. "You're 17?!" He almost laughed. Actually, he was laughing at me.

"What?" I'm so confused- "You're just- You look very young." Oh. It's because I'm short. "Yeah...my hight isn't that accurate to how old I am-" I mumbled.

"So you said your boyfriend was in danger?" He changed the topic. I blushed at even just the word. Boyfriend. "Well not in like, bad danger. He's a danger to himself." The policeman looked at me, concern glazing his eyes. "Are you implying that he could possibly commit suicide?"

"WHAT NO-" I felt tears well in my eyes. What if he actually did...? What if he's dead?! "I-I JUST MEANT THAT... He.. He has anxiety. He could bring himself into a panic attack easily." I took a deep breath before continuing.

I don't think this'll make any sense, but.. "And...we got into an argument and I called him by his first name...his first name is his dad's name and his dad left and- I...I fucked up.." My voice cracked.

I hugged myself tightly, my nails digging into my arms. I felt tears pour out of my eyes. "He needs me..and I need him...." I whimpered out.

"Is he accompanied by anyone right now?" He looked back at me. I'd normally avoid eye contact, but that would seem suspicious. So I looked him right in the eyes as I spoke. "No. Not that I know of." I shook my head, wiping tears off of my cheeks.

He handed my license back. "Ok. I'm going to let you go, just this once. But keep in mind, I'm being nice. Not everyone will let you go this easily." I was astonished. "No ticket or like, jail time?! No nothing?!" I was speeding pretty fast. He shouldn't let me go this easily.

"Yup. Have a good day Sir. Be sure to stay the speed limit next time though. Now go take care of your boyfriend." He got back in his car.

I thought that I was getting arrested today-
