Elias

My family came to see me graduate. After graduation, Owen and I packed up our apartment. Our dads helped us. I finished packing the last of my things. Dad came into the bedroom.

"Do you have everything?" He asked me.

"Yeah," I answered.

"Please tell me you aren't bringing home that Paris girl."

"Yeah, Paris broke up with me when she found out I'm deaf."

My dad looked at me with concern.

"It's a blessing in disguise," I assured dad.

"How?"

"Now I don't have to listen to her nasal voice talk about bullshit."

Dad laughed. "You haven't changed since you were a kid."

I smirked. We finished up and left the apartment. I came out to see my brothers standing there. They grinned as I walked over and hugged them.

"We can't wait until you're home," Nate mentioned.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because a lot has happened, and you need to fix it," Deacon answered.

I looked at my brothers with confusion. Why didn't I like the sound of that?

"What happened?" I questioned.

Nate looked at me but wouldn't answer. I knew that look. It's the look that says it'll piss you off.

"Tori's dating Bradley Wilson," Deacon blurted. Nate slapped Deacon on the arm. Deacon slugged Nate.

Yeah, that news pissed me off. I hate the Wilson brothers.

Dad walked by. "Knock it off before I knock you off," dad told my brothers. He put the last box into the car.

"A lot changes in four years," I said, getting into the car.

"Or it changes nothing at all," Nate added as Deacon gave Nate a look.

My dad and brothers got into the car as we went home. Mom drove my vehicle with Skylar. Owen drove with Mason and Oliver since they had the bulk of our items.

I'm curious to find out what's going on at home. How could Tori date Bradley Wilson? I know Bradley is a prick who is like his brothers. I sat in the car, thinking about things. My brothers sat in the back, talking about random things.

Nate graduated but went to work at the auto shop with dad. He prefers to work on cars than study at school. Deacon is a senior this year. I caught part of the conversation when Deacon mentioned not hanging out with Tori much.

"I don't see the point," Nate said.

"Beats me. I know Tori isn't happy," Deacon said.

"How would you know? It's not Tori hangs out with you," Nate mentioned.

"Because we don't have to hang out for me to know when Tori isn't happy. I grew up with Tori," Deacon said.

"People change," Nate told Deacon.

"Not Tori," Deacon argued.

It didn't take a great genius to know why Tori wasn't happy. I wanted to know why and intended to find out.

After three hours, we arrived home. Mason pulled in next to us. We unloaded my items and brought them into the house. I set a box down and walked over to my window. I looked out of it to see Tori walked to her door. Damn, she changed.

Tori didn't look the same from we were kids. She grew to become a beautiful woman. I looked at her chestnut hair bounced on her shoulders. Tori wasn't that same thirteen-year-old I saw the last time.

"Elias," dad said.

I lifted my head and hit it on the window. I pulled my head in and rubbed the back of my head. Dad chuckled.

"What are you doing?" Dad asked me.

"Bird watching," I answered.

Dad chuckled and shook his head. He turned and left my bedroom. I turned back to the window to see Tori gone. Tori deserves better than Bradley Wilson. We would have to fix that.

Nate

I snuck into Deacon's room and closed the door.

"You lost?" Deacon asked me.

"No," I said, walking towards Deacon.

"Then why are you in my room?"

"We need to extract a leech from Tori."

"Yeah, because bloodsuckers suck. Remember when you got a sponge on your," Deacon mentioned.

"Can we never mention that like ever? It's not a pleasant memory," I huffed.

"Dad told you not to go into that creek. You didn't listen." Deacon shrugged.

I shook my head. My brother is a dipshit.

"Now, why are you here?" Deacon asked.

"I told you. Pay attention."

Deacon rolled his eyes.

"Elias will help us with our little issue of getting rid of Bradley Wilson," I reasoned.

"How do you know that will happen?" Deacon questioned.

"Because we lit a fire under Elias's ass, and we're getting help," I said with a look.

Deacon arched an eyebrow. Someone knocked on the door, and it opened. Mom slipped into the room and closed the door. She walked over to us.

"Did you tell your brother?" Mom asked me.

"Yep," I answered with a look.

Deacon looked at us, knowing mom would help us. Elias didn't know his mom went to Aunt Britt, and she gave her some essential journals. The journals contain information we would need to help us.

Elias didn't know it, but he would play a role in getting rid of Bradley Wilson. That was our plan. The problem with ideals is they don't go the way you intend them to go. It would set in motion what was to come.

*******
Tori

I searched for a book in my room when I felt someone watching me. I walked over to my bed and peered out of my window, but didn't see anything. I shook the thought from my head.

"Yo! Tori!" Deacon yelled.

When did he get back? I thought he went out of town. I flung open my screen then felt something hit me. I opened my window and found myself drenched in water. Oh, he's so dead. I hope Deacon enjoys me sitting on his head. I ran out of my room.

I didn't know but would find out, someone came home and would change my life. It would begin with two brothers plotting, dragging others into the mix. Not only would the person change my life, but I would change theirs. Sometimes change is good.

Sometimes we need the right people to change our lives in a way we never imagined. If you didn't get what I have planned, then I will tell you. You're getting another book. I have plans for the Harper family. You'll love what I have planned.

I will announce when the next book hits. It might be sooner than you expect.

See you in the next book.
