MONA'S POV
<~EDITED~>The party was finally over. I went home before anyone else. I was tired and Travis just made me start rethinking not telling him about his child.
I had another appointment in a few weeks I might tell him so he'd accompany me. If he wanted.
I hate that my heart was giving me hope that we could be a normal family. I didn't want to expect that and get disappointed in the end.
It'll hurt more.
I went to bed again with the sonogram. The next day I couldn't concentrate on my work.
I finally gave up. I walked to my office window that overlooked the city of Lagos.
Nigeria's 'new york'. I snorted.
"Madam?" James called.
"Yes?" I turned to him.
"Mr Travis would like to see you?"
"Let him in" I sighed out.
I watched as he walked in. Gracious as ever.
"Hey" he smiled warmly.
"Hi" I walked up to him and gave him a hug.
I just really wanted to do it. I missed being in his arms. He was taken aback but he hugged back nonetheless.
He kissed my cheek once we pulled away. I blushed trying to stop the smile that threatened to show.
"What can I do for you?" I asked supporting my weight on my desk.
He smirked stalking towards me,and stopped right in front of me. His breath fanned my face as he talked.
"Let's go on a date" he wasn't asking.
"I'm sorry Travis I can't "I refused.
"Why?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I have work to do"duh.
"No you don't. If I remember correctly the launch party was yesterday even if you did have work to do it isn't something that would hold you down" he played smart.
"Smart ass" I mumbled.
He suddenly kissed me and I obviously kissed back. Butterflies flailing aggressively in my belly.
"I love it when you say 'bad words' " he said when we pulled apart.
I laughed.
The look he gave me made me feel something I didn't want to feel. He looked at me like I was the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.
I didn't like it but at the same time I did.
I pecked his lips one more time before saying,
"Alright Travis you just scored yourself a date" I smiled.
He beamed.

"I so prefer Nigerian food to most foreign foods" Travis commented.
"Really?" I asked intrigued.
"Yeah"..
"Ok what's your favorite Nigerian meal?" I asked.
"I'd say it's the jollof rice. I just fell in love with it at first sight" he replied which made me laugh.
I've been doing that a lot. Travis just makes me laugh so much. it's scary cause I haven't laughed this much in years.
