A/N: In this chapter, we will have a moment which (hopefully) you've been waiting for. (No, it's NOT Solangelo; remember guys, I'm trying to make the characters grow with each other, demigod AND mortal, and the gods know She-Will needs to grow). If you want Solangelo, go read or reread Tower of Nero, there is plenty (which I loved, btw). Long chapter, 5k words.
Will's Flashback
THURSDAY, 9th February
You know, you're really lucky your friend is willing to lend us her notes. Actually, I'm lucky, since my grades depend on you and YOU didn't study!
First of all, this level of math was never my strong suit.
Why didn't you ask Annabeth?
You never saw her calligraphy, have you? She thinks really fast and needed a way of writing that would accompany her brain speed. While it works for her, it means no one else can understand it without her being present to explain. She skips words, shortens others, replaces some with symbols only she can associate. Leo also has his own private language and while they can somehow understand each other's, even their siblings sometimes have trouble reading their notes. It requires training I do not have and do not want.
He followed the sea of students desperate to leave school after its last bell. Like she had texted him, Reyna was waiting to the left, just outside the door. While approaching her, he heard a screech and followed Reyna's eyes to see Regina's best friend beating up someone.
"What is that about?"
Except for a slight tensing of her shoulders, she didn't appear surprised by his presence.
"I'm not sure, something about him promising a second date to a girl and never actually asking her. Apparently, this was months ago and Sierra is angry about something concerning Valentines. Can't say I really care."
"Who's the girl he stood up? Sierra?"
Reyna shook her head, reaching inside her backpack to give Will her notes.
"No; and I don't think he stood the girl up as the second date never got sorted in the first place. Although I can't say we know all the technicalities of dating, we're just guessing based on Sierra's babbling."
If he didn't say anything, didn't explain why he didn't want a second date, she's right. He didn't stand her up, he ghosted her, which is just as bad. Jerk.
"Do you think I should stick around to patch him up?"
"No need, Sierra doesn't want to cause physical damage."
He watched the fight for a couple of seconds before raising an eyebrow at Reyna.
"Doesn't look like she's pulling her punches."
"Will, this is the guy who started the fight during that play, remember? He was holding on quite well, and those guys were big."
Ooooh, I remember him, he's the pirate guy all the girls with a loose screw have a crush on.
You do remember half of your friends have a crush on him?
I know what I said. He has trouble written all over him. And he acts like a heartthrob, I hate these guys.
"Ah, now I recognize him. That's Niel, right? He walks with Nico. He and Sierra look close."
"That's one. And not even Regina knows how they became friends; as far as she knows, he's always been around."
Does he know how to be just friends with girls? From what I remember, even Lucy said kissed her without her permission. I thought he couldn't even look past a girl's potential as a lover.
