Matt
After Elias told his brothers, he saw Tori as a sister. Tori hung out with Deacon. I love my boys, but Elias isn't wrapped too tight. I thought we would have to worry about Deacon. Yeah, I was wrong. Nate still gives me hope, and that's not saying much.
I watched Elias with Tori. He asked if she wanted to hang out. She declined. He offered a cupcake. She gave it back to him. Elias went after his brothers. Tori went after Elias.
Here is a piece of advice. Never piss off a preteen girl or view them as a kid sister. It never ends well.
Nora and I sat on the beach, spending time together, when Elias walked over to us. He plopped down in a chair. Nora and I gave each other knowing looks.
"Problems?" I asked.
"I asked Tori if she wanted to swim out to the raft, and she said no," Elias answered.
"Oh? Why did she say no?" I asked, feigning ignorance.
Nora pulled her lips in, trying to stifle a giggle.
"I don't know. Everything was fine when we went for a walk, then Tori changed," Elias said with a shrug.
"You don't say," I said, showing concern.
"I don't understand what happened," Elias reasoned.
You told your brothers you saw her like a kid sister in front of her.
"I like Tori. I wish I knew why she's acting weird," Elias added.
Because you crushed Tori, my boy is dense.
"I'm sure Tori wanted to spend time with Deacon. I mean, she came because of him," Nora mentioned.
We watched jealousy engulfed Elias. Nora and I glanced at each other.
"I guess," Elias mumbled.
"Tori might have her reasons. Give her time," I advised.
Elias mumbled something, which I caught. He got up and walked away. I shook my head. I looked at Nora. "Our boy likes Tori," I mentioned.
"You don't say," Nora said, smiling.
I rolled my eyes. I swear my wife has a way about her.
*******
EliasIt bugged me that Tori wanted to hang out with Deacon. I don't know why, but it did. I walked into a dock and sat down. I dangled my feet over the edge. A few minutes later, Nate sat down next to me.
"What's wrong with you?" Nate asked.
"Nothing," I said as I sat there.
"Elias, you have been moody since you came back from that walk," Nate mentioned.
"So?"
"So, get the bug out of your ass."
I arched an eyebrow at Nate.
"You've been moody after the walk you went on with Tori," Nate told me.
"That's what I don't get," I replied.
"What don't you get?"
"Tori and I talked on our walk. Everything was good. The next thing I know, she won't talk to me or hang out with me. It's like she wants nothing to do with me," I told Nate.
Nate looked at me.
"It's like would rather hang out with Deacon than me. Does Tori like Deacon or something?" I asked Nate. If I knew anything about Nate, he's honest.
