It was almost 8 p.m. when you woke up. You had slept for about 3 in a half hours, meaning you got a nice nap.
You let out a small yawn as you walked out of your room. When you looked, you couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Alex spread across the couch, sleeping on his back with his right arm behind his head, and his left one draped across his chest. His curly bangs had covered his eye patch and his eye was closed as he breathed in and out evenly. You smiled lightly and walked past him and into the kitchen to grab a drink, you never really got to see him sleep. He had always been awake, and you knew he had Insomnia. So, seeing him sleep for the first time was relieving in a sense.
At least now you knew he wasn't only running on caffeine.
You opened the fridge and grabbed a Peace Tea, cracking it open and making your way over to the couch where your friend slept on. When you got to the couch, you took a sip of your drink and stared down at him.
His cheeks weren't too chubby, and his jawline was sharp. He had a couple of freckles on his face, and his eyelashes were gorgeous. But, not as gorgeous as his eye. You couldn't look into his eye currently because he was sleeping, but, it told a whole story.
You tensed a little when Alex shifted in his sleep, but then relaxed once realizing he didn't wake up. Oh, it'd be awkward if he caught you staring at him in his sleep.
You turned away from the man, grabbing the remote off of your coffee table and putting Death Note on. You set the remote down with your drink and sat on the arm of the couch beside Alex's feet. You got a few minutes into the show before you felt Alex's legs move.
"Watching Death Note without me? That's true betrayal," you didn't know his voice could get any deeper. Alex was looking up at you as you watched Death Note.
"Sorry, I didn't want to wake you up," you said, and he nodded, turning on his side and resting his arm under his head. "It's fine, I don't mind," he mumbled, and as he said that, he let out a yawn. You chuckled and slapped his calf lightly.
"I'll get you a pillow and blanket," you said, making him let out a small sigh.
"I'm fine, you don't need to get me anything," he said, and you stood up. "It's alright, I need to change out of these clothes anyway," you were referring to your dirty work clothes.
You walked past the man on the couch, going to your bedroom where you got dressed. You grabbed your blanket and pillow, walking into your living room with sweatpants and a t-shirt on."Here you go," you said, making the man crack his eye open. You handed him your pillow, to which he took and put under his head. You then held out the blanket for him. He stared at the object for a second, before reaching forward. Instead of his hand making contact with the blanket, it made contact with your wrist.
"Wrong object," you said, making him chuckle lightly and shake his head. "You aren't an object, and no, I know what I grabbed," he said, pulling you down.
"What're you after?" you asked warily, making the man roll his eye. "A cuddle buddy," he said, making you smile and laugh lightly.
"You're such a dork," you said but pulled the blanket over the two of you. Alex had his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him as he rested his head into the crook of your neck.
"Yet I don't hear any complaints," Alex said, making you smile and shake your head. "Why would I? Today's been stressful," you mumbled, and the man's arms tightened around you slightly.
"Yeah, same here," his deep voice was so soothing in your ear as he spoke. Is this what normal friends do? Do they just cuddle when they're stressed?
"Just sleep it off," you said, nuzzling your head into his chest and closing your eyes. "Plan on it," he was already dozing off as he held onto you, your legs somehow entangling with his. How romantic, two best friends sleeping away their stress together.
