The feeling of little hands shaking her, woke Skyler. When had she even fallen asleep? She'd started dancing with Nathan and then – her mind went blank. She couldn't remember what happened. It was all just – black. Like dust.

When the little hands appeared back on her arm, Skyler sat up straight, facing her little brother. Tobias looked right back at her; his giant brown eyes a perfect reflection of her own. His chocolate curls had a beautiful golden glow thanks to the interior of the entire palace.

Once he understood that Skyler was awake, he pulled his hands back and stared at her guiltily. "Hi."

Skyler chuckled, reaching for her little brother to lift him up to her bed. "Hey there darling. What are you doing up this late? Aren't you going on a big trip tomorrow?" Tobias instead put his arms around her waist – as far as he could.

"Daddy and Nana say it's for the best. But I don't want to leave. You are staying." He pouted as he looked up at her. Skyler petted his wild whirl of curls and kissed his forehead.

"But Daddy told me you have friends back on earth, don't you want to play with them again?" Tobias gave a soft giggle and hid himself in the nape of Skyler's neck. Surprised, Skyler pulled him back, mockingly giving him a stern look. "What is this? The esteemed Prince Tobias has to giggle at the mention op his friends?" She tickled his sides and then ruffled his hair.

He giggled again. "Y-yes."

"Well then, I can come and visit you every few weeks, don't worry." Skyler gave him a gentle smile. Tobias nodded and then yawned loudly. "Awe, is somebody sleepy?" she teased, before she felt herself yawning as well.

"You are sleepy too!" Her little brother exclaimed in defence, his cheeks rosy and his eyes tiny. Skyler laughed at his reaction, kissing his forehead again.

"That's right darling, that's right." She closed her eyes and concentrated deeply. A whirlwind of black and gold enveloped them both and they found themselves on Tobias' bed.

This had to be the first time Skyler ever entered her brother's room since he'd left the nursery two years ago... Aside from the usual golden walls and bedframes, there were yellow, red and blue teddy bears and various stuffed animals put up in a row. There were posters of falcons and eagles on the wall. It was a boy's room. A little boy's room.

Did Tobias' room on the Avengers Compound look like this too? Tears welled up in Skyler's eyes. This was her little brother. She had a little brother... and she didn't even know him. She loved him, for sure. But like one would love any family member – like one would love the blood that they shared.

"Sky-sky... why are you sad?" The five-year-old sat between his plushy pillows. His brown eyes were big with questions and Skyler only now noticed his Hurricane pyjama's. He had Hurricane pyjama's. He had pyjama's dedicated to her heroine persona. The grey pyjama's had blue lightning bolts from the shoulders with a Hurricane cartoon on the chest. It hurt her to her very core.
