"I-I don't want to do this."
I surprised myself, based upon how drunk I actually was. I have been interested in Ethan for many many years now, but having sex with him while drunk at a party wasn't in any of my dreams.
"Don't let me down, babe." he didn't stop kissing me, and his hands never left the waistband of my leggings.
"Ethan. Get off." I tried to shove him off, but he was too strong for me. He had me pinned between him and a wall; I couldn't move.
"Stop moving, baby. I know you've wanted this for a long time." he muttered, pressing himself harder up against me to restrict my movement. I felt tears beginning to prickle around my eyes as I continued to shove him as best I could, which was no use. Ethan was going to take advantage of me at a high school party, and I couldn't do anything.
Calum pov
My fists clenched together as I watched her grind up against him, I knew he was just using her. I knew he didn't really like her; he just wanted someone to hook up with at these parties. I watched him lean down and whisper things in her ear, things she would giggle at but wouldn't respond to.
Then he did what I knew he would.
He took her hand and began to lead her away from the crowd; something I had seen him do to millions of girls. But Jade was different; she didn't know shit. She didn't know that all he wanted to do was fuck her, he probably wasn't even going to remember her tomorrow.
I tried to push it out of my mind; if she wanted to hook up with Ethan like this, then I'd let her. She hated me, after all. But the more I thought, the more I realized that I could save her from being with him.
"Hey man, where's Jade? Does she know you're literally stalking her?" Ashton chuckled when he returned with my beer.
"I'm not stalking her." I replied easily. I was beginning to panic, I needed to make sure Jade was okay.
"Yeah yeah. But seriously, where'd she go?" he repeated his question. I didn't respond, just handed him my beer back and walked off in the general direction that Ethan had dragged my ex-best friend.
"Ethan. Get off." I heard Jade's familiar voice ring through my ears. She wasn't far, and she didn't want to have sex with him. I had to get to her.
"Stop moving, baby. I know you've wanted this for a long time." I heard Ethan's voice reply. Oh hell no, that's my best friend you're about to take advantage of. But I couldn't seem to find her. I was going into full of panic mode right now; she wasn't in sight.
"Jade?" I called out loudly, waiting for a response.
"Fuck off, we're busy." Ethan called back. I turned around and peeked around the corner, and there they were. Ethan had Jade pinned up against the wall, his hands under her dress and his face buried in her neck.
My fists balled up as Jade gave me a look, as if to say 'help me.' I hated Ethan more than I ever have, and he's done a lot of shit to Jade in the past. He hadn't taken off any of her clothes yet, which was actually a miracle.
"I'm gonna give you three fucking seconds to back off." I spoke, my eyes narrowing as Ethan looked up at me with a wide smirk.
"You're just mad because I get to fuck her before you do. Everyone knows you're in love with Jade, Hood." Ethan spat. Jade took this opportunity to punch Ethan hard in the face, causing him to release her and stumble backwards. Jade sunk to the ground and buried her face into her knees.
I sunk down beside her and pulled her into me. She must have really been hurt, because she didn't push me away. She cried silently into my chest, and I knew I had to get her out of here. Picking her up, I started out of the hallway. But I couldn't leave; not yet.
I set Jade up against the wall and stepped toward Ethan again, who was on the floor, but still smirking at me. As I stepped toward him, he stood up.
"Stop acting like she's your best friend, Hood. She hates you." Ethan spat. His words had no effect on me whatsoever, all I did was connect my fist and his face. Something I had been wanting to do for such a long time.
"Dick." I muttered, then grabbed Jade again.
The ride home was silent. Jade didn't say anything and neither did I, I was too scared to break the silence. She was still really drunk, she couldn't even walk in a straight line. When we got to my house, I knew my parents and Mali were already asleep. I held my arm around Jade and practically carried her inside.
She stumbled into my room with my help, probably remembering where it was from the years we had still been best friends. I'd be lying if I said I missed those good old days. But then I had to go and fuck it up, an old habit of mine.
She still didn't say anything, yet when I tossed her a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, she still didn't seem phased.
"Jade, you need to change and go to sleep. Your hangover is gonna be bad in the morning." I lectured her. She was just sitting on my bed with my clothes in her lap, tears silently running down her face.
"Sorry." she mumbled and stood up, still completely zoned out. She stumbled into my bathroom, then came out a few minutes later in my clothes.
"Goodnight Jade." I whispered when I felt her climb into bed next to me, neither of us touching at all.
"Night." she mumbled. We both laid in silence, I was too nervous to sleep. Jade McKingsley, my ex-best friend, was laying next to me, and despite the past events, she didn't seem to hate me too much right now.
I was too lost in my thoughts, I hardly noticed when Jade rolled over and rested her head on my bare chest.
"Cal?" she whispered. My heart skipped a beat or two at her little nickname for me, a nickname I hadn't heard in years and have missed so dearly.
"Yes?" I whispered back, my voice barely audible.
"I've missed you."
And with that, her breathing became even and she fell asleep, her head still on my chest. I hadn't even noticed the happy tears flowing down my face at Jade's words; words I thought I'd never hear her say.
"I've missed you too, Jade." I whispered back, leaving a small kiss on her forehead.
