treacherous

                                    

                                          
the day was passed with board games, movies, snacks, and online shopping (mostly cats ideas). jade didn't bother asking to watch the scissoring because she knew cat would be scared out of her mind and wouldn't sleep at all that night. now that jade thought about it it wouldn't be so bad if cat couldn't sleep. they could spend all night talking and playing funny games. no jade no, she told herself again. 
                          
even if a very little tiny small part of her loved cat, she felt committed to beck. he was committed to her too, and as mad as she still was at him she didn't want to do that.
                          
 the day was almost over and around 7 pm the two girls ordered a pizza and lounged around cats house. jade constantly switched the color of the lights, fascinated by them. she went through the rainbow and switched them to red for the first time. 
                          
"ewwww jade noo!" cat whined when she put them on red. 
                          
"what? i like the red" jade replied sitting back. 
                          
"jade the red lights mean... sex" cat whispered giggling. jade just laughed and turned the lights back to green. 
                          
"thank you" cat giggled playfully punching jade in the shoulder, forgetting this was jade. jades instinct kicked in and she gave cat a murderous look. cat screamed in a high pitched squeal and ran around the house. jade chased her full speed and finally pinned her down on the couch after a few laps around the house. 
                          
"say you're sorry!" she laughed, holding cats arms down. 
                          
"NOOO!" cat screamed while giggling. 
                          
"ok then!" jade threatened beginning to tickle cat. 
                          
"NO NO NO IM SORRY IM SORRY" cat laughed running out of breath. her laugh was so sweet and innocent jade thought, trying to stop the thoughts. but they just kept coming. jade let her go and they rolled around laughing for a while. suddenly cats computer began making a ding sound. 
                          
"cat someone's video chatting you!" jade yelled to cat who couldn't hear the dings over her laughter. 
                          
"ooo who?!" cat questioned walking over to the computer happily. 
                          
"uhg it's vega." jade whined. cat clicked the green accept call button as jade ran out of camera view rolling her eyes. 
                          
"hiiiii" cat yelled at tori on the other side of the screen. 
                          
"hi cat!" tori quipped. 
                          
"are you alone?" she asked raising an eyebrow. cat glanced at jade, who wasn't in the screen. jade aggressively shook her head yes, trying to get cat to say she was alone. 
                          
"yes yes i am" cat responded, trying hard not to laugh. thank god, jade thought to herself, at least cat could manage to lie. 
                          
"ok good" tori replied. "now i need your help cat" tori continued. 
                          
"whaty?" cat asked interested. jade sat on the bed, already bored. 
                          
"i need your help picking out an outfit or a date tonight!" tori requested getting excited. 
                          
"oooo ok!" cat replied smiling big. "whos the lucky guy?" cat asked. 
                          
"erm- uhhh... it's beck." she answered sheepishly. jade suddenly perked up, trying hard not to scream. her eyes bulged and her fists tightened. cat sensed this and knew she had to get off the call. 
                          
"um wear pink he loves pink!" cat yelled, knowing beck hated pink, and hung up the call quickly.
                          
 she slammed the computer top and looked up at jade. her eyes burned red and tears pushed at the back of her eyes, daring to come out. but she wouldn't let them, blinking back tears and holding in sobs. she felt defeated. more than that she felt stupid. how could she not know that was a breakup? was it even one? was beck cheating on her? did he think she was with moose?
                          
 the truth about moose was that jade hated him. she didn't like him in the slightest and just slept with him to make beck jealous. suddenly a thought occurred to her. she jumped from the bed, walking quickly to the door. cat chased after her, 
                          
"where are you going jade?" she asked looking worried. 
                          
"to sleep with moose." she replied confidently. 
                          
"what why?!" cat asked looking concerned. 
                          
"to get back at beck." she replied, the lack of emotion in her face making cat shiver. 
                          
"wait jade-" cat tried to say as jade took a step out the door. she didn't stop so cat grabbed her arm, making her holt to a stop. jade looked back at her, confusion, anger, and sadness taking over her face. 
                          
"why should i cat?" jade argued. the usual smile on cats face had turned to a smirk very quickly. 
                          
"i mean i guess i could make him jealous here." jade finished raising an eyebrow at cat. cat could take a hint but was enjoying this too much to stop it. 
                          
"what do you mean jade ?" she asked suggestively, closing the door and going inside the house. cat said nothing, she just stood in place while jade walked to her. until their bodies were up against each other. cat didn't move. jade teased her, standing close to her lips, but not kissing her. she suddenly grabbed cats chin, facing cat up towards her. cats heart raced as jade leaned down and changed the color of the lights to red. 
                          
"i'd be smart to walk away" jade tried to say as she pressed her lips against cats. 
                          
"but your quicksand" she managed to say. jade moved her hands up cats body. cat messed up jades hair. she heard the sound of her own voice, asking cat to stay. 
                          
"ya know" cat moaned, out of breath. 
                          
"this path is reckless" she tried to create reasons in her head for why she shouldn't do this. she pulled away from the kiss for a second, 
                          
"this hope is treacherous" she said with sad eyes. 
                          
"this daydream we have, it's dangerous." cat sighed. 
                          
"and i like it" jade finished pulling cat back into her and kissing her.
