Aru was sitting on the ground, her chest heaving up and down, after her long week of training. She thought that she was finally down with her training but felt as though something was missing.

She fingered her earrings, gasping as she realized that she still didn't know how to use that time element from her mother's necklace. She still had to free her jewel from the curse, too. Aru got up tiredly as she walked over to Lord Narasimha, who was sitting down, watching her fight with the training illusions.

Narasimha raised an eyebrow at her, looking uninterested, as if she was as insignificant as a fly.

" I think I'm ready," Aru said confidently.

Narasimha chuckled, "Daughter, you are far from ready."

"Daughter?" Aru questioned. As far as she knew, this guy was not related to her, besides the fact that he was a god.

He chuckled again at her confusion, "Didn't your mother tell you that humans are God's children? Am I not an aspect of God?"

Aru flushed, embarrassed that she had forgotten that small but important detail, "Yes."

Narasimha scowled, "Everyone always forgets."

Aru looked at him in a completely new angle. Was it possible that he was so grumpy all the time because he didn't like being forgotten?

"Of course! You hate being forgotten don't you?" Aru cried.

The Lord looked at Aru, "Don't we all, daughter? You were forgotten by your own father. He tried to kill you. Did he not?"

Aru's face softened at the true meaning of this god's sadness, " I'm sorry. Your right. No one would willingly want to be forgotten. It sucks."

Narasimha nodded before having an idea, "Daughter. What if, in exchange for the time skill and to lift the curse on your jewel, you tell stories about the gods? Make it a tradition amongst your family. Pass the stories down. They remember one story, they remember the rest."

Aru brightened at the idea. She would be like a mortal messenger passing on the stories of the gods, " I'll do it. But just for good measure, what version of your stories hmm?"

Narasimha grinned, his lion teeth glinting, ignoring the last sentence she spoke, "Good," he said, as he waved his hand around. Aru's jewel came into view as Narasimha handed it to her, "The curse is removed."

"Wait really? That was quick!" Aru said, astonished. She expected it to be a longer experience.

The Lord rolled his eyes, "I'm a god," he deadpanned.

Aru mentally facepalmed, "Right. So now my jewel can talk to me?"

Narasimha smiled, "See for yourself."

Aru called out to her jewel, excitement fizzing her insides.

"Hello new master! As I said before, when we met, My name is Ember! Thank you and Lord Narasimha for releasing me from my curse. I will be forever grateful. I assume that now you wish to learn how to control your time powers from Lord Narasimha?" Ember asked sweetly, curiosity portrayed in her voice full of personality.

Ember took Aru by surprise, " Uh... Yeah? I mean, yes. I mean, it's nice hearing you talk, I'm just a little surprised you know?"

Ember 'nodded', " Understandable! I think you should do that training now. Seems like you are a little bit too surprised at the moment to be talking with me."

Narasimha watched this exchange amused.

Aru was flabbergasted, " How did you know I was on overdrive?"
