Chapter 14

                                    

                                          
The next day, when I went to work the others were still working on last night's papers. "Good morning my hard working team" I say as I enter the BAU and I see them all in their desks
"Good morning. I see that someone had a good night sleep last night" Emily says
"No, last night was horrible. But today is a new day. And I brought you donuts" I say putting the bag with the box on the table
"You're amazing princess" Morgan says and comes to grab a donut. 
"I know. Hey, is Hotch here?" I ask since the blinds and the door in his office were closed
"Of course he is. He is in his office" he says
"Thanks" I say.
                          
I go to his office and I knock on his door. "Come in" he says but as soon as I opened the door I did not only saw Hotch but also little Hotch who was sitting on the couch drawing
"Oh... Good morning" I say closing the door
"Good morning. Jack this is Jessie" he says
"Hi Jessie. Are you daddy's friend?" Jack says
"Yes. It's nice to meet you Jack" I say
"Sorry, he wasn't feeling good this morning and my sister-in-law is out of town and I couldn't find a babysitter" he says
"It's ok. I actually wanted to talk to you about last night" I say
"Ok, give me a minute" he says and calls someone "Garcia, do you have time?" he asks and hungs up after a few seconds.
                          
She comes in the office "Can you occupie Jack for a few minutes?" he asks
"Yes, sure. Let's go Jack, daddy has to work. Jessie brought some delicious donuts" she says taking his hand and walking out of the office.
"Can I choose?" I hear him ask as they walk away and I chuckle
"He is really cute" I say. 
                          
Hotch gets up and comes to sit right next to me "Tell me" he says holding my hand
"After our conversation... or better, my confession last night, I thought a lot about what we said. Actually what you said and you are right. I'm much better and stronger than him and I won't let that narcissistic bastard to destroy the rest of my life. I might had let him control me for three years but I got out. I'm not a victim anymore because I got out. I'm a survivor and I deserve to get my life back. I mean look at what I've done since I left him. I'm at my best without him and he can't take that again" I say.
                          
He smiles and cups my face "That's my girl" he says rubbing my cheeks
"Your girl?" I ask
"If you want to. Agent Jessie Grey, do you want to be my girl?" he asks
"I do Agent Aaron Hotchner" I say and he kisses me.
"I'm sorry if I pushed you too much by bringing Jack but it was a last minute thing" he says
"It's ok. I know. And I don't feel pressured at all with you. That's why I could talk to you last night" I say and I kiss him
"It's really good to hear that" he says and kisses me again. "I can do this all day" he says and kisses me again.
                          
"However, we need to find a way not to let work and relationship to get complicated. No privileges and no things like 'No, don't go, it's too dangerous'. Got it?" I ask
"Ok. But because I'm the Chief and I should give the example here and also I don't want to give Strauss more reasons to come down here..." he starts to say without letting go of me
"You want us to fill out the relationship in the workplace form" I complete his sentence
"Yes. If that's ok with you" he says
"Sure bring it" I say
"Thank you" he says and kisses me. So we sat down and filled out the form. "Great thank you. I'm gonna get it to Strauss later" he says and kisses me
"Maybe I should, you know, woman to woman. If you go she'll ask questions. If I go she may come down here and ask you questions" I say
"You're right. But are you sure you want to go?" he asks
"Yeah, it's ok. I'll see you later" I say
"See you later" he says and pecks my lips once again before I leave.
                          
Walking out of the office with the paper in my hand, I saw Jack sitting in the kitchen with Garcia, eating a donut. "Thank you for the donuts Jessie" he says as I walk past him 
"You're welcome buddy" I say
"Where are you going?" Garcia asks
"Strauss" I say
"Oh. Good luck" she says
"Thank you" I say and I open the glass door.
                          
I stand outside of her office and I take a deep breath. I knock on her door "Come in" I hear and I go inside
"How can I help you Agent Grey?" she asks
"I'm here to give you this" I say leaving the paper on her desk. She picks it up and starts reading it
"You and Hotchner? For how long was this going on for?" she asks
"A couple months but it wasn't official yet. This morning... It became official" I say
"Ok. You've shown great potential agent. I hope that this doesn't affect your work or else I'm gonna go ahead and request your transfer to another unit" she says
"It won't. Thank you" I say and I leave her office.
                          
I go to our floor again and I sit on my desk. "Everything ok princess?" Morgan asks
"Yeah. Everything is good" I say 
"Come on, you can tell me" he says
"I can but I'm not sure if I want to yet. I don't know. You'll find out sooner or later" I say
"You and Hotch finally made it official, didn't you?" he asks
"How the hell..." 
"It's my job princess. And one of the blinds in his office is broken" he says
"So everyone knows?" I ask
"Pretty much" he says
"Oh my God..." I whisper covering my face
"It's ok. Congratulations" he says
"Ok, we aren't getting married" I say
"But you took the next step. That's something" he says.
                          
"I... I gotta go... somewhere" Penelope says looking at her phone
"Kevin?" I ask and she smiles. "Ok, go. Come here Jack" I say and runs to me. I pick him up and I sit him in my lap. "See all them writing things down?" I ask him pointing towards the others and he nods. "You wanna write too? Help us solve the case?" I ask
"Yeah" he says excited
"Ok. I got blue, black, red and pick pen" I say holding them up so he can choose
"Blue is my favourite" he says taking the pen
"Great choice" I say and I place a white paper in front of him. "Here is where we all write the things that your daddy makes us write. Like homework" I say
"I don't like homework" he says
"Yeah, me neither. But don't tell your dad that I said that" I say and he laughs.
                          
He pretended to write things on the papers. "I'm done" he says showing it to me
"Let's get it to daddy then" I say and he jumps off my lap. He takes my hand and takes me with him. I help him walk up the stairs and he runs to his dad's office. "Dad this is for you" he says letting the paper on the desk
"Oh what is that?" he asks
"Agent Jack Hotchner just wrote his first report" I say and Jack smiles
"Oh really? And I can say that he did pretty good" he says.
                          
"How about you go back to your drawings now?" he asks him 
"Ok dad" he says and sits on the couch again and starts drawing
"His aunt will be here to pick him up in about 15 minutes" he says
"Ok. There is also something else I wanted to tell you" I say and I walk to the blinds on the window. I found the broken on right in the middle and I show it to him
"Oh... So how much did they see?" he asks
"Everything this morning. Morgan told me. You know I thought I'd be stressed about people finding out but I'm feeling pretty good about it" I say and he smiles proudly.
                          
"You didn't tell me what did she say?" he asks me
"Strauss? Basically she said that if it affects my work, she'll tranfer me to another unit" I say
"Ok, got it" he says. I turn to leave and then I see her coming out of the elevator.
"I guess it's your turn now. Good luck" I say and I get out of his office.
