Roman x Reader: Tears just aren't my thing

you hid a small smile as you heard Romans deep breathing before a giant sob burst from his throat. you held him in your arms as he cried. Bambi playing on the screen in front of you. his soft voice as he called for his mother, being drowned out by Roman's loud sobs, even if he has seen this scene at least 47 times.
                          
this wasn't an usual thing for Roman though, he'd often sniffle and cry at every sad scene, he even cried while watching Winnie the Pooh with Patton... so... yeah. it was impossible to tell if he was actually sad or just attention starved... honestly probably both.
                          
"Will you please shut it!" Virgil groaned as you tried not to giggle. your boyfriend was a little overdramatic at times... okay, more than a little. but you just held him in your arms, running your fingers through his hair. and kissing his forehead softly.
                          
"why aren't you crying! this is simply tragic!" Roman sniffled, looking up at your face as you bent slightly to plant another kiss on his forehead. his arms hugged around your torso as he moved to sit in your lap
                          
"Tears just aren't my thing, dear..." you said softly, before nuzzling him softly, Virgil smirking at you while you continued the movie. it soon ended and Roman glanced up sleepily. you rubbing his shoulder softly.
                          
"I love you..." he mumbled, and you smiled lovingly down at him, holding him a little closer. as you leaned down. your lips brushing against his face, as his soft rose scent made its way into your nose, not overpowering, just magical.
                          
"I love you too, sweet one..." you mumbled and he just sighed in content, curling into you and sleeping. the calm, peace of it all made you smile. Roman was yours at the moment... all yours, alone, with the one you love. peaceful. and you soon felt yourself falling asleep as well.
                          
you woke up, a soft feeling on your scalp as Roman was playing with your hair, and kissing your forehead, much like you'd done the previous night. you were in your room, a blanket draped over you nicely. Roman smiled widely when he saw you were awake
                          
"good morning, my love..." he smiled, as you just smiled back, pecking his nose. after you changed in the bathroom, you and Roman went out to breakfast, and soon headed back for a bit movie marathon.
                          
everyone gathered in the living room, staring around at each other before Patton spoke.
                          
"I believe it's Roman's turn to pick for this movie night!" Patton said and Virgil and Janus groaned. Logan tried to internalize his frustration, and Remus, after putting his morning star away, when Patton glared (nobody messes around when Patton glares) just pouted too. but instead of choosing moana for the 8th time, he turned to you, his eyes wide, and sparkling.
                          
"what do you want to watch first, dearest?" Roman asked you, surprising everyone as you smiled softly, staring at the movies in front of you.
                          
"I haven't seen Up before... how about that one?" you asked, and Roman nodded, smiling. Patton putting it on and Roman cuddling you in his arms. the soft rumble of a chuckle in his chest as the movie started.
                          
it continued on adorably... well until... yeah. needless to say you were in tears by the first ten minutes, Roman crying too, even Logan tearing up a little. Remus was unfazed and Virgil wouldn't look at anybody, rubbing his eyes quickly. while Janus just rolled his eyes. Patton having streams of tears down his cheeks as he held his stuffed cat named Twinkie.

                          
you were cut off by Janus chuckling, turning everyone's attention towards him, while he gestured towards you
                          
"I see even the famous y/n lies... 'tears aren't my thing'... indeed y/n... indeed" Janus hissed out amused. Virgil smirked a little bit and Remus started cackling, as more tears filled your eyes, but out of embarrassment. you jumped up, throwing Roman's arms off you, before bolting out the door, little sobs making their way to your lips.
                          
this was... humiliating. you were supposed to be the strong one, the unmovable one, the sturdy one paired with Roman. what is he gonna say about this, when he sees that you've been crying. you didn't want to even think about that as you quickly climbed the large oak tree... your safe spot.
                          
hiding among the leaves as you cried softly. this is where you met Roman, where it all began, and here you were. just... humiliated. what on earth is Roman going to say about this... you wouldn't blame him if he left you right then and there... were you over thinking this? probably.
                          
"y/n, y/n... you don't have hair like Rapunzel, but please come down anyway." Roman called out. earning a soft embarrassed laugh from you. you climbed down a few branches, out of reach, but now visible among the leaves.
                          
"Up makes everyone cry, love. no need for your embarrassment, now come down." Roman called out, but you just shook your head, still too embarrassed to face the others, who btw were getting chided by Patton and Logan for embarrassing you. too embarrassed to face Roman.
                          
"I'll buy you ice cream, with a warm brownie?" Roman tried to bribe, and you just stared down at him. before sighing climbing down the rest of the tree, knowing Roman would try to climb up after you, and that you didn't want him slipping. after you reached the ground Roman wrapped an arm around your torso and walked with you to the small bakery down the block.
                          
you both continued walking til you could keep the question in your mind any longer
                          
"do you think any less of me... you know... for crying?" you asked, and Roman gasped, tightening his grip. his eyes in shock and almost offended, before he scoffed, leaning down to kiss you. you both broke the kiss but he kept his face close.
                          
"of course not dearest one! I would never think less of you, I honestly thought it was kind of cute." Roman mentioned still staring as you blushed a little as you lightly whacked his arm.
                          
"Hey... I love you" you whispered to Roman before he just scooped you up in his arms and ran down to the ice cream shop. you holding on laughing. sure tears weren't your thing, but that was okay. Roman loves you all the same
