It's been about a week since I've last seen or spoken to Neymar.
All I know is that he is in Los Angeles somewhere, probably at the beach in his favorite shades or at a photo shoot talking to Davi on the phone during his break.
It's four in the morning and I've decided on the lack of sleep being that I've taken too long with Neymar and James is done with me.
I walk out of my room after getting dressed and I slip on some rain boots and take an umbrella with me.
The cold February air sends chills through my body even with the amount of layers I have on, but the smell of rain on asphalt brings a smile to my face.
I decide that the only correct place to go is Central Park and I do so. I go in through the South East entrance by 5th Avenue and make my way to the Gapstow Bridge.
I make a home at that bridge at almost five in the morning and admire the beauty.
The dark setting making it hauntingly cool, and I can't take my mind off of one thing.
I take my phone out and call Neymar.
"Hello?" A groggy Neymar answered.
"I'm sorry," I mumble. "I shouldn't have called so late."
"Relax, Kat," he says. "I was just about to go to sleep."
"It's almost two over there," I point out. "What were you doing?"
"Thinking," he says. "It's almost five over there, are you outside?"
"I'm in Central Park," I say. "At the Gapstow Bridge."
"The what bridge?" He asks.
"That bridge where Davi got out of his stroller and was dying to take photos of him with the skyline behind him- above the pond-"
"Got it," Neymar says. "What are you doing out there? It's cold and I can hear it's raining-"
"Don't worry about me," I say. "I just couldn't sleep either."
"What's been on your mind, Kat?" He asks.
"Us," I blatantly say.
"Us," he repeats. "Likewise."
"We aren't through," I say. "Don't be surprised if I visit you in Barcelona soon."
"Now I won't be," he chuckles. "Thanks for that."
"I'm sorry," I chuckle with him.
"Hey," he starts. "Be careful out there, you should really call me when you get home. I don't like the idea of you out in a dark, wet, and vacant Central Park using your phone-"
"I'll be fine," I shrug him off.
"Just please," he says. "Call me when you get home-"
A beeping noise is emitted through my phone and I check the screen, fearing I'm out of battery.
Chris.
I don't even have time to tell Neymar I got another call or that I'll call him back. I just press the green button on my phone screen as quickly as I can, feeling my heart rate increase.
"Kat!" He yells. "Her water broke! We're at Mount Sinai!"
"Oh my God!" I yell. "Wait! Which Mount Sinai?"
"The Mount Sinai! East of Central Park! The main one!"
"I'll be there in five minutes!" I jump and hang up.
I begin running to one of the east entrances and I make a halt as soon as I hit the street.
I gawk up at the dark building I have to reach, then at the cars making their way somewhere.
