Chapter 6

                                    

                                          
After we went to the second crime scene, we reunited back at the police station. We gathered in the conference room where JJ was waiting for us. "We think that we are looking for two unsubs, male and female" I say 
"We found a blonde hair in the house and it's already in the lab" Emily says. Then Reid stands up and walks to the board with the photos
"All the victims had one or two hits on the head and then were stabbed to death multiple times in the torso. In all cases the male had more stab wounds than the female which shows more rage towards them. The babysitter and the older daughter were killed the same way. But the kids that were found today were strangled" he says.
                          
"So they kill the family and take the two kids. Then they kill another family, again they take the two kids and get rid of the previous kids" Morgan says
"What gender were the kids?" I ask
"The first two were boy and girl, 7 and 4 years old, and the others were two girls, 5 and 4 years old" he answers
"So they don't look for specific gender or age or even just age difference" I say
"Doesn't seem like it" Hotch says "Garcia, is there any connections between the parents?" he asks
"The only connection I could find was that both families were at a local theme park a few days before the attacks" she says
"That's probably where they pick victims" Morgan says 
"Prentiss, you and Grey go check out if there were any witness that saw the unsubs" Hotch says and we leave.
                          
"Ok, what's up with the two of you?" Emily asks me as we get in the car
"I told you nothing happened between me and Hotch!" I say
"First of all, I never mentioned Hotch" she says "Second, he had you all around him and now you avoid looking at eachother and he is sending you away with every opportunity he has. Now tell me what's up?" she asks
"Promise not to tell anyone?" I ask
"I promise. Now tell me" she says
"When I was in his office this morning, after we wrote the reports, there was this tension. And he leaned in and I leaned in and he put his hand on my knee" I say
"Oh and then? Did you kiss?" she asks excited
"No. Then JJ knocked on the door because we had a case. This case" I say 
"Oh no" she says
"Yeah..." I say "Until now he has apologized twice and I keep telling him that it's not his fault but he doesn't seem to agree" I say
"That's why he's acting like that" he says
"Yes. And the truth is that I don't know what to do because I don't know what I want yet" I say
"Well, until you decide you can maybe show him that you're fine with what happened. Don't avoid eye contact and talk to him like you did before" she says
"Thanks" I say and she nods.

"I hope you had better luck because we got nothing from the theme park" Emily says as we enter the conference room
"We kinda did" Morgan says
"We are gonna give the profile and then you can all go to the hotel and get some rest" Hotch says and we nod. Everyone was gathered outside the conference room and waiting for us. 
                          
I take Emily's advice and I decide to go to Hotch. So I pretend that I look something on my phone waiting for everyone else to go outside. And when everyone did, I let my phone on the table and I walk up to him
"Agent Hotchner?" I ask
"Yes?" he answers
"I can start the presentation of the profile. If that's ok with you" I say and he looks at me surprised. "I know that it's just my second case but I think that I can do this" I continue
"Ok. Go ahead" he says
"Thank you sir" I say and I leave the room.
"You go girl" Emily whispers to me and I chuckle.
                          
"Agent Grey, you may start" Hotch says and I nod
"In this case we are looking for two unsubs. A male and a female. They are a couple and they are probably married. They are both in their late thirties or forties. The female has blonde hair but for the male we don't have any information. Their target are always two kids and they will eliminate anything that comes in their way, like they did with the babysitter. We believe that they are picking their victims by watching the families that go to the local theme park. From the rage that we see in the male victims, the female seems to be the dominant in the relationship and gives the orders" I say and then Morgan continues from there.
                          
After giving the profile we went back to the conference room to get our things. So I take my purse and I head out with Emily. "Jessie?" I hear Hotch's voice and I turn around "Good work today" he says causing me to smile
"Thank you sir. See you tomorrow" I say
"See you" he says and I leave
"You. Go. Girl." Emily says laughing and shake my head.
                          
"Do you get any sleep during the nights that are between a case?" I ask
"Not really" she says
"And I thought I was the only one who just stared at the ceiling and thought about the case again because if I close my eyes I see the photos from the crime scene?" I say and she chuckles
"No, you're not the only one. How about instead of thinking by ourselves, we think together?" she suggests
"Sure. Wanna come by my room later?" I ask
"Great. I'm gonna see you in 30 minutes then? Is that ok?" she asks
"Sure" I say and we go to our rooms.
                          
As soon as we got to the hotel, I jumped in the shower. But before I was out of the bathroom, there was a knock on the door. I wrap myself in the towel, throwing my wet hair on one side and I go to open to Emily. "I thought that you said 30 minutes Em" I say looking at the clock and I open the door but I almost faint as I see Hotchner in front of me. "Agent Hotchner..." I say still shocked "Uhm... With all due respect sir, what are you doing here?" I ask trying to discreetly hide behind the door.
"Uhm... You left your phone in the conference room. I thought you should have it in case something happens" he says offering my phone back to me
"Thank you sir. Goodnight" I say taking my phone
"Goodnight. And I'm sorry for the inconvenience" he says and leaves. I close the door and immediately I cover my face with my hand. 'He saw me in a towel. MY HOT BOSS SAW ME IN A TOWEL'. Honestly, I wanted to scream but he'll hear me.
