Chapter 2

                                    

                                          
"Everything ok?" Agent Morgan asks as I get to my desk
"Yes" I say
"Don't let Hotch scare you. He's a good guy" he says 
"I can tell" I say looking at him through the window of his office. 
                          
On the jet we went over the case files one more time and gave a quick evaluation. Hotchner and I headed to the coroner, JJ went to the station and the others headed over to the crime scene. "You better be ready" he says just before we head inside
"Always" I say pulling my badge out with him
"Hello, I'm SSA Hotchner, this is SSA Grey" he says to the coroner
"Yes, the sheriff told me to expect you" he says
"What can you tell us about the victims?" Hotch asks
"Honestly, it seems like there were performed surgeries on them. The male victim had prostate cancer and small tumors on his liver and intestine and it seems like whoever did this was trying to take them out. The female victims had also some kind of medical issues, from tumors to just an infection. But each surgery was poorly done. However, all of these conditions each victim had were also on their medical file" he says.
"So whoever did this knew about their health problems" I say to Hotch
"Yeah, thank you for your time" he says and we leave. All the time the only thing I could really think of was 'Oh my God, that voice of his... Imagine that voice giving you orders, either on a case or in private'.
                          
On the way to the car his phone rings. "Hotchner" he says. He hungs up almost immediately "Another woman went missing last night" he says to me
"So it's probably a matter of time to find the body of the previous missing woman" I say
"Unfortunately yes" he says as we get in the car.
                          
"You know, he said that all the 'surgeries' were poorly done. Maybe that was also his stressor" I say as he starts driving
"Maybe. Can you call Garcia for me?" he asks handing me his phone
"Of course" I say and I call her putting her on speaker
"Queen PG is ready, what do you need?" she asks
"Garcia, I want you to find students, males, who have recently dropped out of med school or have gotten fired from a local hospital" he says
"Unfortunately there are too many" she says
"Ok, I'll call you back so we can narrow down the list" he says
"Wait..." I say so she won't hung up yet "...can you find if the woman he kidnapped last night had any medical problems?" I ask
"Yes, she does. She has stage two cancer on her uterus and she is also doing chemo" she says
"Thank you" I say and I hungs up. "Doctor is probably gonna try to perform a hysterectomy now" I say
"Hopefully he won't have time to" he says.
                          
By the time it got dark, they found the body of the previously kidnapped victim. We went to the crime scene and then we were to give the profile. But still something felt off to me. Because even after the profile we couldn't narrow down the list of suspects. 
                          
"Why drop out of med school and then practice on people?" Morgan asks 
"Paranoid?" Emily suggests
"No" I say as another thought hits me
"What?" Hotch asks and everyone in the room looks at me
"I have another idea. You said to look for males that have dropped off from medical school. What if he is applying what he is learning and that's why he is evolving from 'surgery' to 'surgery'?" I ask
"Like he got tired of cadavers and moved on on live patients?" Emily asks
"Yes. And the semester changed exactly four weeks ago. So that's why unsub moved from the male first victim to the females. It got to be because the semester changed which means the classes changed" I answer
"But how can we be sure?" Morgan asks
"Most teachers write down what they taught in class cause usually they teach more than one lesson and class. I just need these notes" I say.
                          
"Garcia, I need you to give us the names of the professors that teach something close to gynecology and most specific surgery in their classes" Hotch says
"On it" Garcia says "I found her. Her name is Georgia Franklin, she's being teaching in this college for 11 years now" she says
"You have an address?" Hotch asks
"Yes, I'm sending it to you right now and also the list of her students" she says
"Thank you. You're amazing" I say
"You are very welcome" she says and hungs up.
                          
"Ok, Grey and Reid go to see these notes. Call us as soon as you have something" Hotch says and we leave immediately.
