Meanwhile, I changed out of my robes into comfortable clothing and grabbed my wand before strolling swiftly out of the common room. Technically, it wasn't past curfew yet, however, it would be soon. I rushed down to the locker room, arriving a bit earlier than Oliver said. I sat down on one of the benches, shaking my leg up and down, waiting for him to come.
"Hey," Oliver said, strolling through the doors of the locker room, carrying a bag, "We have to be quiet, but go get your broom." I raised my eyebrows but went to my locker as he did the same.
We walked out the doors, broom in hand and I shivered. "You cold?" He asked.
"Yes," I laughed, my teeth chattering, "Please don't make me regret this, it's not worth hypothermia."
"I promise you won't regret it."
"Really?" I raised my eyebrows.
"No that was a complete lie, but we'll be able to warm up soon," he smirked and I bit my lip to keep from smiling. "Follow me." He kicked off the ground and I followed behind him, rather than going towards the quidditch pitch, I was surprised as he flew up along the castle. I followed him as we silently sped along the exterior of the school, gaining more altitude. We reached the top of the castle, flying over the roof of Gryffindor tower and past the astronomy tower.
Finally, Oliver began slowing down and dropping to a flat part of the roof, over what seemed to be above the Great Hall. He slowly descended until his feet touched the roof and he slid off his broom. I followed suit and he helped me off my broom onto the flat surface. We grabbed our brooms and he took my hand in his free hand, leading me along the roof until we reached the base of the clock tower. We sat down, leaning against the tower and placed our brooms beside us.
"Not at all what I expected," I smirked, "But I must say you did not disappoint." He grinned at me and reached for the bag he brought, pulling out a large, knitted, red blanket. He draped it over us, and I immediately felt warmer.
"I couldn't wait until the weekend to see you again." My face was already red from the cold, but I still felt myself blushing. "I know this is cheesy so don't you dare start teasing me about it," he laughed.
"You're right, it is cheesy," I smirked, "But I suppose I don't completely hate it."
"Coming from you, I consider that a good thing," he smirked. It was dark out except for the bright crescent moon and stars shining down, illuminating our faces. I could make out the silhouette of the Forbidden Forest and Hagrid's Hut along the tree line. The Black lake stretched out far in front of us. He pointed out a couple constellations.
"Do you know any constellations?" He asked.
"After O.W.L's last year, I dropped astronomy and didn't retain a single thing from that class." I laughed. "I always found constellations weird. Like if there are billions of stars in the sky, you should be able to make out any shape you can think of, so why do we only memorize specific ones?"
"I'm pretty sure theres more to it than pretty shapes, but I get what you mean," He looked at the sky.
For the next five minutes, we talked about the strange astronomy teacher, laughing and telling stories from the class. "Hey can I ask you a question?" Oliver said abruptly, changing the topic.
"Shoot."
"Why is it you've never dated anyone?"
"Actually, I have." He gave me a look of surprise. "Ever since I became captain, I haven't, but I did in our fourth year and summer before fifth year."
"Who?" He said curiously.
"Well in the fourth year, I went out with Derek for a month or so, and then I had a summer thing with a boy in England who went to Durmstrang."
