"I thought you already knew, why did you get so worked up immediately?" I asked him as I joined him in the car.
"I thought your mum was pregnant and had a miscarriage. I didn't know she killed the baby. She killed it." He screamed.
"Please, calm down." I told him with a shaky voice. I was really scared. I've never ever since Simi's dad like that. His eyes had turned red. He folded his fist like he was going to hit someone.
"Yeah." He said as he loosened up slowly, rubbing both of his palms on his head.
"She ain't got no reason, mehn. No reason at all." He said.
I nodded, I didn't expect this from mum.
"Yeah, she had a reason. It might not be a good reason but she had a reason." Simi said as she joined us in the car.
"Wait Simi, I hope you aren't trying to justify what she did? Nevermind, you don't have to answer that. She's a woman and so you're and you'd take side with her." I said.
"You aren't even going to let me speak. If she..."
"The pain was too much for her, she wasn't thinking straight, she didn't mean to do it, she wasn't ready, she.. Any other excuse you want to add?" I cut her off.
"God didn't want her to keep it." Simi sighed. "She had you even though she wasn't ready. She could have as well kept this one but this isn't God's will."
"Yeah true, cut that crap." I replied angrily.
"The fact that both of you are bright students but are still too dumb to detect when someone is trying to think amazes me. You can drop the tag already, just be all round dumb."
Simi muttered something as he started the car while I just gasped.
"And No, Simisola, God doesn't want us to kill." Mr. Samuel said as we alighted the car in front of the house.
"Whatever, she's an adult and she can do whatever she wants. She's the one feeling pains right now and both of you are just annoyed for nothing. The deeds already done. Become amnesiac and forget about it, it'd do us great good." She said then started walking into the house but turned back.
"I'm sorry, daddy. I'm sorry, Dindu. I didn't mean to shout like that. I've been working on myself this few days, trying to be less rude," She pouted "We're all stressed up and we are trying to unleash our anger on each other. It'd be better if we pretend that this never happened."
"It's okay, baby but it's impossible to pretend it never happened. 101 things would remind you of it." Simi's dad said.
"Like when you'd be copying the notes of subjects you missed today, you'd just have to remember that it's because of my mum's unreasonable act." I said.
"When you'd be making meal for her in the evening and packing it in a flask, you can't help but wonder why you're going through that stress because of her actions." Simi's dad added.
"Like, even without doing anything, it'd just be on your mind Simi. You know. It's impossible to forget stuffs." I said.
"And I didn't even expect you to be this calm when someone made you miss classes. If it was before, you'd be screaming at the person. To say you think she have a reason. You're changing." He said. "Positively." He added.
"Thanks." Simi smiled. "I was just going to impress her."
"Sorry that she disappointed you." I said as I sat down on one of the couch in the living room.
