Just something small based of the song The Idea Of Me by Maja Kristina. Feel free to listen to the song (if you can) while reading. Idk it was kinda just something that went through my head.
You sat quietly in Vern's penthouse, the makeshift bar he'd hired people to turn the kitchen into looked nice with all the guests he'd invited. The music was loud, the people were loud, and though you were here- on a normal day you wouldn't be.
This wasn't your style. This wasn't your crowd.
You'd be lying if you said the dress was yours. Or the black heels you had on. Your back dress was short, a sexy scrunch at the thighs to give it a "naughty" look. The chest piece was lower than the neck of your biggest vneck tshirt, and it was backless, only a few flimsy decorative straps lingered to make your back look hot. Who knew a back could look hot? Apparently fashion.
You sipped on a water in a wine glass as you looked around the room, eventually catching the eye of a certain blue eyed mutant.
Ah, yeah, the mutants.
You'd met them. This was their celebration after all, for saving the city and all that.
Michelangelo.
His name bounced around your head relentlessly.
You'd consider yourself borderline friends with him by now. Considering he saved you, and when you'd had a panic attack from being in danger- he was the one to calm you down. He distracted you, was gentle. He held you, wiped your tears away, playfully flirted with you to make all your hurt and panic drift away.
You enjoyed his personality. And honestly, as your eyes raked over his body now, under the flashing lights as he stood over regular people, you enjoyed his body just as much. He'd gotten your number somehow on that day, and you'd talked since. When Kraang attempted to take over and you'd heard about it from him, you were worried sick about his safety.
You cheered for him from the sidelines, hoping, wishing it would be over soon and you'd have him to yourself.
You wouldn't love me if you knew me
Oh, I don't even think you couldYou didn't hang out with Mikey ever, but playing video games online and video chatting, along with the constant texts and occasional call had your heart sweeping by just the thought of him.
But as much as you knew about him, you didn't feel as though he really knew you.
Don't know me well enough to hate me
Even though I'm sure you wouldYou were trouble. Toxic. You had issues. You weren't good for him. You knew this.
Trouble found your easier than you'd like to admit. It wouldn't be good for him.
You constantly built yourself up only to tear yourself back down. You sabotaged yourself a lot. You doubted yourself constantly.
Mikey was energetic, playful, but observant.
You were surprised he hadn't stopped talking to you yet.
You're walking my way
And I see that you don't have a clueMikey nodded at you, acknowledging your presence as you sat alone at the bar. You gave a small, tight lipped smile in return, turning your head briefly and taking another sip of water.
Glancing over your shoulder again, he was making his way over.
Bout to make a mistake
Wish I could tell you what to do
