Chaemin's POV

After a while, a flight attendant comes over with snacks and drinks. I get some orange juice and pack of cookies.

I look over at the guy next to me. He got some water and crackers. Kind of boring, if you ask me. What's with him?

Then I see him taking off his mask. Wait, he's taking off his mask! I move a little so I can see his face. And when I do see it, I gasp.

It's The Lee Taeyong.

I rub my eyes real quick to make sure that I'm not hallucinating. I look again, and am met with the exact same ethereal face.

When he looks over at me, my breath catches in my throat. Are my eyes deceiving me? Everything fits together now - the mask, the cap, the calmness, the safety video, the ignorance - He's TAEYONG!

I don't know what to say. Why is he even behaving like this?

He sighs and takes his cap off, too. His light blue hair is revealed. He's so pretty.

"Hi," he says, looking over at me. He talked to me! TAEYONG TALKED TO ME!

"H-hi," I stutter, not taking my eyes off him. Am I being weird? I force myself to stop staring at him. I hope I'm not going to screw up my Korean somehow, even though I've been speaking it since I was little.

"No, it's not my first time riding an airplane," he adds. "Even though it's probably obvious." I take a moment to figure out what he's saying, and then realize that he's answering my question from, like, an hour ago.

"O-oh, okay. Uh, I'm Chaemin, nice to meet you," I answer awkwardly, still starstruck by the handsome man in front of me.

"Well, Chaemin I'm Taeyong, if you didn't know," he answers, glancing out the window. HE SAID MY NAME!

"Yeah, I know," I answer, finally calming down a little.

"Cool," he answers, and takes a sip of water.

"I'm, uh, going to Korea to see my parents. It's my first time on an airplane," I say randomly.

"Nice. I'm going back to Korea from our US tour. I was taking a break in New York," he answers. Wait, he's still talking to me! I usually don't get all excited, because I'm more of a quiet person.

There's an awkward silence for a while. Then I ask, "Are the rest of the members in Korea already?"

"Yeah, they went back a few days ago," he answers. Why is he so nice in person, too?

Then he asks me, "Why are you going to South Korea?"

"My parents are there, and they want me to go and find a job, since I just graduated college," I explain. He nods, and then takes his AirPods out and starts listening to music again.

I just sit in my seat, trying to digest the fact that Taeyong is just casually sitting next to me.

~Time Skip~

"Chaemin, wake up, the lunch is coming!"

I rub my eyes. I must've fallen asleep. Then I look over to the left, where the person who just woke me up is, and I see Taeyong.

I jump and then cover my face, embarrassed. How did I even fall asleep?

Taeyong chuckles, and then says, "You fell asleep, if you didn't notice."

I uncover my face and ask, "How long was I asleep?"

"Like, 3 hours?" he answers, looking amused.

'That's embarrassing,' I think to myself.

Luckily, at that moment, the flight attendant comes with food. I wonder how airplane food tastes. Everyone says that airplane food is the worst, but I've never actually tried it. It can't be any worse than the food that I cook.

Taeyong chooses his meal first, and, without hesitation, he picks the second option. He gives me and look and says, "Trust me, this one is better."

I decide that it'd be best to listen to him- he's probably experienced - and also, who wouldn't take Taeyong's advice? After I choose my meal, I start eating it. It's not as bad as people say it is, but that's might be because I'm riding in first class.

"How's the food?" Taeyong asks me. I'm still surprised by how friendly and easygoing he is, despite being an idol.

"Better than the food I cook," I answer, and then continue to eat.

"You can't be that bad at cooking," he says, laughing.

"Trust me, my fried eggs are worse than Mark's," I say.

"Oh..." Taeyong trails off. "I'm traumatized from that experience."

"Yep, pretty hard to imagine, right?" I laugh. "At least you're good at cooking."

"Eh, I'm not that good of a cook," Taeyong answers modestly.

This flight is going better than I thought it would.
