"Have you said goodbye to the home where you were raised?"
Mephisto's words ran through my head over and over, almost like a record on repeat. I pressed one of my clawed hands to my cheek, my cold fingers making me shiver. The inside of Mephisto's bright pink limo was empty aside from me. Rin and I had to put on school uniforms before we could do anything else. I had fought with Mephisto on wearing a skirt, especially when I considered the fact that I have a fucking tail.
He asked me to wear it just for today since it was all he had brought, just the thought making me angry.
I dug around in my bag, trying to find the pair of skin tight shorts I had stuffed in my bag this morning. I smirked in triumph, grabbing the shorts and quickly pulling them on. Next I grabbed the disgusting skirt and jerked it on as well, finally taking my tail and wrapping it around my waist underneath the skirt. Instead of having the usual bow that most girls had with their uniform, I had asked for a tie. I didn't want to wear a bow because I didn't want to look girly. The problem? I didn't know how to tie a tie...
I sighed quietly grabbing my sword in it's bag. Next I slid over to the door, opening it and stepping out of the car. Yukio had his back turned to me so when Rin's jaw practically hit the floor he asked him what was wrong.
"Dude... Check out Kiyumi!"
Yukio spun around and the second his eyes landed on me, his jaw also dropped. My cheeks turned a deep pink and I quickly moved around Yuki and towards Rin.
"I... uhmm..." I dropped my gaze to the tie in my hands, "Rin... could you please help me with this?"
The boy blinked in confusion but took the tie from my hands, "Yeah... sure I'll help you."
I lifted my shirt collar and held my head up, "Thank you. I... Nevermind."
Rin tied it slowly so I could see how he was doing it, that way next time I would be able to do it by myself. Behind me I could hear Yukio arguing with Mephisto about how short my skirt was.
Height wise, I was almost eye level with Rin, so by no means was I short. I also had rather long legs... so of course the skirt was going to be short. The stupid thing barely covered mid thigh! I rolled my eyes and turned towards the two, "Hey, you do know I'm right here, right?"
Yukio glanced in my direction but didn't say anything instead choosing to continue lecturing Mephisto. I frowned at his rather cold attitude and turned back to Rin, "What crawled up his ass?"
He shook his head, reaching out and pulling me into his chest, "Maybe he's still upset about Dad..."
I scoffed angrily, "So are we... but we shouldn't be turning on each other. I thought we were family..."
Yukio's sudden change in attitude definitely stung, making my chest feel almost empty.
"Rin, Kiyumi... You can check in everything but your valuables over there."
I clenched my teeth and looked the other way, refusing to speak to the boy that hadn't said a word to me since Dad's funeral.

"Here's your new student representative... Yukio Okumura."
Rin and I sat together in the swarm of students, shock on both our faces. I sighed, a small smile forming. Even though I was angry with him I still smiled at the fact that the boy on the stage below had really grown. He used to cry when someone said anything even slightly mean to him, but now? Now he was so far beyond that little boy I used to know.
Even after the entrance ceremony I couldn't pull myself out of my thoughts, instead unconsciously following the two out of the building. When I was finally able to pull myself out of my own head, I noticed Rin walking away from his brother and the group of girls surrounding him. I glared in anger, but refused to approach, knowing it wouldn't do any good. I chose instead to follow after the demon boy, "Hey... wait for me."
I moved quickly after him, worry for the boy building inside my chest. Rin got far enough away from everyone and squatted on the ground, deep in thought. My gaze softened as I stood beside the male, Rin has always wanted to protect everyone... and yet there's no one to save him.
I dropped my head and laid a hand on Rin's shoulder.
"Thank you for waiting."
The both of us suddenly looked up and found Mephisto sitting on a light post not too far away.
My eyebrow twitched slightly, "You finally showed up. Great."
Rin looked up, his expression serious, "So how do I become an exorcist?"
