My name is Lydia Weasley, I'm fourteen years old, and I'm a Gryffindor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I come from a huge family: there are my Mum and Dad, and I have six brothers named Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron. I also have a younger sister named Ginny. We're all very close and supportive of one another. Out of all my brothers, I'm the closest to Fred; he's very understanding and gives the best advice despite being rambunctious all the time!
I have amazing friends as well: there are Hermione Granger and Harry Potter, who's the most famous person in the wizarding world, but there's a friend of mine that means the world to me.
His name is Cedric Diggory, he's in the Hufflepuff house at Hogwarts, and he's two years older than me. He's exceedingly attractive and the kindest person I've ever met. We became close friends last year, and in all that time, I've wanted us to be more than friends. When I'm with him, everything in the world seems better, and time seems to stop. I hope this year will be an excellent time to reveal to him how I feel.

"Lydia, wake up!" I heard Ginny call and throw a pillow at my face.
"I'm awake," I yawned and ran my fingers through my red hair. "Dad says we're going to the Quidditch World Cup, so you better get ready," My sister said and then ran back downstairs.
I got up and started to get ready for the day. I wore my favorite pink sweater with lace and blue jeans and sneakers. I put my hair in a ponytail. I wore my favorite butterfly necklace with a sky blue jewel that Cedric had given me as a birthday present last year. I wore it all the time, and it made me feel closer to him. We waited a long time for the others to wake up, Ron, especially. He slept like a log.

"Breakfast is ready!" Mum called for the rest of my siblings. Hermione was already downstairs. She was always prompt and on time. We ate breakfast and set off on our adventure.

It was cold this morning, and we were shivering as we trekked through the forest. I could see a slight layer of frost on the leaves that covered the forest floor.

Just then we saw a man up ahead waiting for us. "Arthur, it's about time!" The man was well dressed and he had a news cap on his head. "Sorry Amos, some of us had a sleepy start," Dad replied as Ron yawned in response. "This is Amos Diggory, everyone. He works with me at the Ministry."

Just then I saw Cedric jump off a tree limb! I fought to keep from grinning like an idiot. "And this strapping young man must be Cedric," Dad smiled impressed. "Yes, sir." he shook his hand. "Let's keep going!" Dad announced as we continued forward.

"Hey Lyddie!" Cedric smiled when he saw me. "Hi Ced!" Or should I say show off."  "Witty as always, I'm surprised you're not in Ravenclaw," he teased. One of the things that made our relationship so special was Cedric's kindness and sense of humor. My smile spread across my face. As we hugged, he picked me up and spun me around. As he did so, I giggled like a child. "Isn't that sweet?" Fred and George teased. I made a face at them and then turned back to Cedric, "Just ignore them I do," I told him while internally hoping they didn't expose my feelings. "It's alright. They can have their fun," this was one of the things I loved about him. He wasn't easily bothered. I smiled gratefully at him, "So how was your summer?" we were walking up ahead of the group engrossed in conversation. "It was good, I spent it writing and practicing Quidditch," he smiled which caused his blue eyes to light up. "However the best part of my summer is about to happen, I get to spend time with you," when he said that my face got hot and I knew I was blushing. "You're so sweet, I was also practicing Quidditch; I practice with my brothers all the time." "And we beat her every time!" Fred shouted towards us. "Actually, it's the other way around!" I said, this caused Cedric to laugh. "I'd like to see a Weasley Quidditch match sometime." it was touching to see him banter with my family, "Maybe you can play with us, and you and I can have a one on one match," I invited playfully patting his arm. "Are you challenging me?" he comically raised an eyebrow. "Yep," I replied nonchalantly with humor. "You're on," he said putting his arm around me. "Guess it's a match," I hugged him from the side. Summer had gotten even better.
