Snow had begun to radiate the way, it had been unexpected.
"I'm surprised that we're even capable of getting snow anymore, all you get is sun, sun and more fucking sun now."
"You'd be great telling the local weather Polly. Make a change from the usual 'sunshine is wonderful even if it melts the skin off our face and gives everyone skin cancer, vitamin D is whatever, we want that sunburn. If you like a cool refreshing breeze, a bit of rain or snow you are a witch, you must be burned at the stake, have a wonderful day', sounds like Dakota doesn't it." Kayla grinned.
Polly and Tee-jay looked at each other and burst into laughter.
"I won't disagree with that." Then Polly pointed as a snowflake hit the window.
"Oh my, it's beautiful." Kayla put her hands to her mouth.
"It really is." Tee-jay agreed.
More snowflakes hit the window, they glowed green before sliding away.
The farm came into view, as Polly had suspected it had come to no harm. Getting closer they noticed llamas grazing peacefully, the events of the past six months had probably passed them by.
"Of course, there's a bunch of grunts patrolling the area." Kayla sighed.
"One of two things will happen, they either leave us alone and get far away from here real quick or we subdue them." Polly pulled up the truck switching off the engine.
"Subdue, so we're going to try to do this peacefully?" Tee-jay asked.
"It's too easy to expect Obliviana to be here, but I want Dakota. I've had enough of her. She either tells us what we want or I'm taking her tongue as the penalty."
"I love that idea Polly but I'd rather just kill her, she'd still be dangerous if kept alive." Kayla was geeing herself up for what was about to come with breathing exercises.
Polly got out without a word sliding the side door open.
"Tool up time, I'm giving them one chance and that's all. They won't hesitate to kill us, and wouldn't you know it, they've spotted us. See that one grunt on his walkie-talkie? Probably thinks he's real important right now, might even get into heaven if murders us quickly."
"Loving the sarcasm Poll, I'm with you, one chance. They're coming towards us, seems they've baited us although I'll take a guess they won't be so clever ten minutes from now."
"You've got that right Tee." Polly turned and walked towards them with Tee-jay in tow.
"Hey wait a minute, I haven't got what I need." Kayla sorted herself out and caught up with them hurriedly.
"Stop right there!" Called walkie-talkie grunt putting his hand out. He wore a beige jumpsuit with the letter O emblazoned in red, white and blue. Like the rest of his foot soldiers, Polly counted fourteen, they also wore masks that made them look like some kind of overgrown bluebottle fly.
"How adorable that he really thinks he's important." Polly cupped her mouth. "You're all going to leave right now! I want Dakota and then we're gone. You don't have to worry, we'll kill Obliviana too!"
"This is your last warning or we open fire!"
"That's his chance gone." Polly began to glow green. The flora and fauna around them began to rise monstrously.
The grunt took fire but the bullet was easily disposed of by Polly with a simple hand gesture, it melted away to nothingness.
"Don't shoot again you stupid filth sack!" Polly warned him.
He fired again. His screaming and shouting was all Polly could bear.
"Stay behind me for now." She told the siblings. Two huge vines picked up the mewling grunt and twisted his head. A pig's squeal would sound less harrowing. The sinews were ripped from his neck and the head thrown at the rest of his henchmen who looked on in horror, not that anyone noticed with their features covered.
"Evil, pure evil." One of them pointed. "Lesbians, they've brought this evil on the world, impure, filth..."
Kayla executed him with a perfect bullet through his already diseased brain.
He fell back, blood spooling, the headless man above him had pissed himself, urine fell onto the corpse below followed by clumps of feaces which landed in the open mouth of Kayla's victim.
Kayla's laughter spooked the llamas.
The rest of the trigger happy buffoons started to fire at them.
Polly whispered. "Dad."
Moments later the blackbirds surrounded the henchmen ripping them apart as if they were made of wet paper.
One lone grunt who thought he would die a hero aimed a shot at Polly's head, he had his hand torn to shreds by Tee-jay's bullets before he too would end up a fleshless heap on the stinking floor outside the front door.
When all was peace again Dawed stood before them. "I can sense the girl you're looking for is underground, I sense her fear too. Maybe she thought she'd be safe or she's willing to die a martyr for this cause but be warned she is dangerous too."
Polly stopped to listen momentarily, a ticking sound could be heard. "Fuck, is she carrying a bomb?"
"I believe so." Dawed replied.
"Right everyone get the hell out of here, release the llama too, I'll deal with Dakota then catch up to you."
"Fuck you Polly! I won't allow you to get yourself blown up for some nobody!"
"Kay trust me like I'm trusting you. I can survive this I'm sure of it, you can't. Do you believe me dad?"
"Use your powers wisely and do what you must."
"Okay everyone out of here now! You too dad, I can't handle you dying twice on me. You and Tee look after Kay, because we're going after Leaf Spot next and he's all hers."
"Oh I can't wait to see his face, he's probably better looking than he ever was."
"Kay let's joke later." They kissed. "I'll see you all shortly, get to the end of the dirt path, safe distance. If I'm not back in thirty minutes I'm likely dead, but I don't think today is that day."
"I'll stay just in case." Dawed told her.
Polly thought about it and nodded. "Okay just in case."
