Pain.
That was all that Sophie could feel as she tightly pressed the torn out piece of her cape against the throbbing wound.
She suscked in a breath, trying to be brave yet again, simply wanting to wipe off the smug grins on her enemies' faces.
It was almost impossible to be bearable.
The next thing she saw was red.
A lot of it.
Just soaking up on the cloth, covering her senses with the rusty metallic odour.
And then, the world blurred.
Her vision was capable to just catch a glimsp of a flash of sliver, possibly a blade, and then such swift movements it seemed like someone was dancing.
Till a pair of arms scooped her up, the world went black.
Right before she heared a voice so familiar yet so far away whisper in her ear, "I've got you Foster."

Sophie had no idea how long she had been out.
Only to see him next to her with a hand full of pancakes blossoms, frantically pressing them down on her open wound on her leg.
She groaned as she sucked in a breath, waiting for the pain to subside.
"Oh you're awake!" he cried with a mix of relief and happiness, and Sophie realised a cut on his forehead.
"You're bleeding too!" she croaked, her voice dried from the screams for help moments before.
"Don't worry, this is more important. You should be fine here-"
"Two things, no you are equally important! Look, I still can move my-"
Keefe held her leg down, predicting her next move as he gave her another worried glance.
"Your willpower is overwhelming Foster, but think about it. With that," he pointed to the deep gash that even Sophie winced along, "You'll only slow us down."
Sophie bit her lip, a little offended by the brutal truth. Yet, it was the truth, so what could she do?
"I'll track your thoughts to make sure you're okay," Sophie stated.
"Otherwise I'll come with you," she added as he immediately gave an unapproving look.
Silence stretched, and Sophie wondered if he was judging by her emotions whether she was telling the truth or not.
"I won't change my mind," she added yet again as his mouth opened, then closed again.
"Fine," he huffed as he got up, and Sophie smiled back innocently.
"Be careful," she whispered into his head as he got up.
He gave her his trademark smirk, and Sophie was expecting something snarky in response.
"You too," was all he said as he vanished into the mountain fog.

The whole mind reading idea was definitely way better than she expected, since Keefe managed to doge a few attacks and stricken a few with the extra pair of eyes looking out for him.
The sight wasn't all that great as Sophie would wince, but he was strangely unbothered, probably too distracted by the fact that his own mother led them to this battle.
For one, she could feel the amount of anger and betrayal he tried to hide at the back of his mind, which made her want to hug him, even if she didn't know where he was in the thick fog.
She'll find him.
Besides, it was easy to track him down already should he need help, since their minds were already connected.
Trying to calm down her throbbing heart as she realised all around him was the thick fog, then noticing his mind went silent too.
"No one," he thought, and Sophie felt a tinge of disappointment.
They finally could have taken advantage of the blurriness and deeated the Neverseen!
Yet, why does it keep on going round and round and round the same problem?
She slumped down against the bark, crestfallen and defeated.
What could they do now?
"Where are the rest?" she asked.
"Can't really see them, I guess choosing the mountain wasn't the best idea," Keefe admitted sheepishly.
"Definitely. Can you hear anyone? Or feel any emotions nearby?" she prompted.
Silence filled in for a while, before he sighed. "No luck. It would be too obvious of me if I shouted, they would know my location and... I dont know, keep me hostage?"
Sophie let out a small laugh.
"Leave it to you to only be rational in a battle," she giggled.
"I'm trying," he huffed, and Sophie could imagine the smirk on his face.
"This is taking way too long- KEEFE WATCH OUT-"
It was as if he suddenly let go of her hand, and she was alone in her mind once again, this time unknowing of anything else.
