Rain rain go away
Come again some other day.

My shoulders were slumped low, me and my clothes completely soaked.
How fitting that it would rain on a day like today.
My heart ached and pain was the only thing I could feel. Rin and I hadn't moved from in front of dad's grave since they buried him.
I could feel eyes boring into the back of my head and I knew it was Yukio.
He had come back practically moments after our father had died.
Such a sick sense of irony. I can't stand it.
A shudder ran down my spine, tears building up behind my eyes for what felt like the millionth time in the past few days. I didn't fight it, instead allowing the tears to flow freely down my face and mix with the heavy downpour of rain. With the thought that no one would notice my tears in mind, I cried. I cried for the father I had lost, I cried for the mother I never got to know, and I cried at the realization that I had lost the only family I had really ever known.
Rin's gaze landed on me momentarily before he grabbed something from inside his pocket. When he removed it, a cellphone was clasped tightly in his hand.
He flipped it open and it beeped a few times as he started pressing buttons before holding it to his ear. The device began to ring and I wiped the tears from my face, listening in silence. The ringing of another phone sounded near by and caused Rin and myself to look up with wide eyes.
"What the..."
Rin's voice held confusion, making me glance around us.
A group of men had surrounded us and caused my eyes to widen even further, my hand instinctively going for Onimaru.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rin Okumura. It's also nice to see you as well, Miss Fukuzawa."
Standing a few feet away, was the one and only Mephisto.
"My name is Mephisto Pheles. I was a friend of Father Fujimoto's. Allow me to offer my condolences."
He swiped his hand away from his ear and shut a phone that was held in his left hand, his right holding a rather stupid looking umbrella.
I watched him carefully, knowing that Mephisto had many dirty tricks he could pull. It didn't help that the look on his face practically gave away that he had some ulterior motive to being here.
Rin was also watching the man, "Are... are you guys... exorcists?"
The boy was understandably confused, which made me frown slightly. Mephisto chuckled suddenly, making me step slightly closer and in front of Rin.
"We are the Knights of the True Cross."
What is this bastard up too?
Rin rested a hand on my shoulder and stepped closer, "Father Fujimoto said you'd take me in."
I stiffened slightly, That was before your demonic powers had awakened... now I've really got a bad feeling.
Mephisto smirked at the both of us, "Well, despite my appearance I am in a position of some responsibility. I mustn't allow personal allegiances to sway my judgement."
He paused to look the both of us over, a feeling of dread washing over me.
"You are the son of Satan. I must kill you before you become a threat to humanity."
I stepped forward, my hand tightening around Onimaru's hilt.
"What the hell are you playing at, Mephisto? Because this isn't funny."
My eyes narrowed at him when he began laughing again. "Miss Fukuzawa, don't think I've forgotten about you. You happen to be the child of Lucifer, so I wouldn't go spouting off at me if I were you."
I growled angrily, "Oh shut up! I don't give a damn who my father is! That doesn't define who I am!!"
My body quaked in anger as I glared at Mephisto. He however ignored me and turned towards Rin.
"The both of you have two choices. Let us kill you...
...or you kill us. Whoops. I suppose you could kill yourselves. So which will it be?"
My mind started to run over time, trying to come up with some way out of this situation.
Dad's voice suddenly rang through my head, Remember Kiyumi, I'm training you to be an exorcist for a reason. There may come a day when you need to put what I taught you to use.
My entire body loosened and my glare disappeared, "Mephisto Pheles, my name is Kiyumi Fukuzawa and I am an exorcist in training. If you insist on executing me... I demand a trial."
The man's eyes widened and he blinked a few times. My eyes flickered to Rin and his eyes lit up with determination, "Hey... let me join you! Whatever you guys say... she isn't the child of Lucifer... and I'm not Satan's son!! My... Our true father... was Father Fujimoto!"
I stared at Rin, tears pricking the corners of my eyes, "Rin..."
Mephisto stared at the both of us with disbelief, "Why would you want... to be exorcists?"
Rin stepped forward,
"So I can kick Satan's ass!!"
"So I can kill Lucifer!!"
The both of us shouted at the same time, then looked at each other with wide eyes.
Mephisto snickered and then burst out in a laughing fit. I scoffed and snarled quietly, I hate this guy.
"Huh... What's so funny? Aside from your clothes..."
Rin muttered the last part to himself.
Mephisto finally began to calm down, wiping his eyes and then looking back at us. "You two must be nuts!"
My fingers twitched and I opened my mouth to say something, Rin however beat me to it.
"No, I'm serious!!"
Mephisto looked over to me with a quirked brow, causing me to nod my head in agreement with my friend.
Mephisto began giggling again, "The son of Satan and the daughter of Lucifer... exorcists!! Most interesting. I like it!!"
The men behind Mephisto began to panic, "Sir Pheles!? What are you thinking?!"
Meanwhile, Rin and I stared in total disbelief at his change in attitude.
"So... it's ok?"
I shrugged my shoulders, "I dunno... maybe?"
Mephisto's attention turned back to us, "You have chosen a thorny path... but if that's what you want..."
Rin balled his fists up tightly, "I'm not... a human or a demon. But I will be... an exorcist!!
I breathed out a quiet sigh of relief, the smallest smile forming on my lips.
