Tae needed to be quick, which was ironic given the whole speed situation. In the walk from the elevator to Ruby's place he couldn't help but worry about Jungkook. They had been cheerful when they left Hobi's restaurant last night, both laughing about Jimin and Jin and how annoying they were, neither expecting those two to get on as well as they had.
As soon as they were in the car, Jungkook had asked him to stay the night and Tae hadn't hesitated to answer, stopping off at his place to grab some things before taking them both back to Jungkook's. He had almost expected to be asked and would have suggested it if the question hadn't come. Whilst at Tae's they had tried to formulate a plan that would help the 8 hour shift, trying to work out what would help, throwing ideas out there. Jungkook had been walked to work by Tae, he had walked him to the staffroom and stayed with him until he was ready for his shift. Jungkook had used that time to change into his uniform and put on a show for Tae, who still protested that he wasn't watching, just for the fun of it and because he was stubborn. The Orderly was wearing one of Tae's t-shirts under his uniform, he had used Tae's shower gel, he had asked Tae to sleep in socks and put one of those in his pocket, he was wearing one of Tae's bracelets and they had kissed until he was breathless and hard, seconds before he started work. Tae vowed to stay close by after lunch and would be meeting him from work... they'd covered as many options as they could think of.
The vampire felt the worry start to eat away at him as soon as he had left the hospital but he needed to get to the town hall and this was the first of many shifts they would have to deal with. He had promised Jungkook that he would be in the staffroom waiting for him before his shift ended and that is exactly what he would be doing, hoping that his conversation with Ruby went quickly. He did like the fact that they had spoken a lot about Jungkook's physical reaction to them being separated because it meant they could tackle it together, as a team and try to make life that much easier. If Tae was being honest, he also hoped they would find a way to live as they were without the need for Jungkook to become a vampire but he was losing all hope where that was concerned. This whole situation was a huge learning curve, he was learning about himself whilst learning how to deal with the boyfriend he didn't know he wanted. It was amusing because Tae had come to realise that the best way for Jungkook to sleep soundly was if he was pressed against him on his side, with Tae's chest to his back. Jungkook complained last night because he wanted to face him but Tae had insisted that for the previous two nights when they had slept that way he had slept well. The Orderly had also insisted that the reason he had slept so well was down to the orgasms he'd had both nights but Tae wasn't being tricked into anything and made a deal with him that if he had a restless night then they would know the answer. Jungkook couldn't find a decent argument to counteract the suggestion so he had no choice but to go along with it and he was annoyed when he opened his eyes this morning and Tae had indeed been right.
Tae smiled to himself as he neared Ruby's door, the image in his head of Jungkook pouting, rubbing his eyes, hair messy after having just woken up and having to admit defeat. He was sure that Jungkook wasn't used to losing and his irritation at Tae being correct was quite cute. Ruby answered the door and smiled, her long red hair curled down to her waist and her eyes sparkled green. Her long mint green dress with emerald embellishments flowed behind her and made it appear that she was floating. Tae understood why she was harassed so much when she lived in the mortal world and he had always wondered if she had been as strikingly beautiful when she was a bean or whether becoming a vampire emphasized her features.
"How lovely to see you, Taehyung."
She led the way through a long winding hall to a tented area in her garden where they could sit at a table and talk.
"Living here suits you." Tae took a seat and accepted the tankard handed to him by a fairy.
"It is more peaceful and I'm not at risk of breaking the law by killing anyone."
