"Brother?" Eilidh looked puzzled at me and I shook my head.
"yes, tis a lang story 'n' nobody kens aboot it," he walked towards us a sat us down. "i wis in englain, in service o' a powerful fowk, ah coudnae tellt thaim he wis mine," Jamie swallowed. "Ah haven't seen him sin he wis a wee laddie, ainlie a week old."
I saw a tear form in his eyes, he clearly loved the young boy on the painting.
"Don't talk further Jamie, you don't have to," I laid mine hand on his arm and he smiled sadly.
"Come thare is anither body, wha wid be happy tae see ye," he stood up. "and then ah kin shaw this lassie auld reekie 'n' we getting a proper meal in a tavern," He holded his hand in front of Eilidh.
I smiled as she naturally took the hand of Jamie and they walked towards the door together. With me on his right side and Eildih on his left we walked over the Royal mile, Which was completely different from the time I knew it. He pointed out building and talked to Eilidh about it. As I happily walked beside him.
Suddenly he stopped me. "Skye," he nodded forwards.
"Milady," the familiar French accent with the adult tone in it sounded over the street and I stepped away from Jamie towards the now young adult man.
"Fergus," I whispered as he walked slowly towards me.
"You 'ave returned?" he asked in disbelief. "It's a miracle." he walked now faster towards me and pulled me in a hug.
"God Fergus let me look at you," I pushed him away and took him in.
He was now a handsome young men at the beginning of his twenties, his dark curls grow longer similar to Jamie's one.
I took his hands and froze when I felt the cold of a wooden hand on his left side. "Fergus? what happend?"
"Red coats milady, fought them," he smiled proudly.
"Yes a very brave lad," Jamie confermed.
"I tought I was seeing a ghost, but it is truly you?" Fergus asked again and I nodded. "Where have you been all those years?"
"After Culloden I thought everyone was dead so I returned back to the Netherlands. I didn't wanted to bring harm to Lallybroch as wife of a traitor," I told him and he nodded. "And seeing I was pregnant, Jamie and I both decided that that was the only option."
"Pregnant?" Fergus lifted his eyebrows and then noticed Eilidh besides Jamie. "Is she?"
"Fergus catch up wi' oor daughter Eilidh Brianna Jamie Fraser," Jamie proudly introduced her to her older "Brother".
Fergus sat down on one knee and holded his hand out towards her. "Hello there Ma Cherie, I'm Fergus,"
"Eilidh," she said shyly as she shook his hand and Fergus stood up.
"Milord I need to talk to you about or friend," Fergus started but Jamie cut him of.
"Nae th'day, cancel th' the script 'n' catch up wi' us in th' tavern oan th' corner, we celebrating th' return o' Greer 'n' Eilidh," Jamie pulled me close to him as his hands remains on the shoulders of Eilidh. "'n' ah micht ask ye tae watch ower Eilidh th' nicht if ye wouldn't mind?" he gave me a wink and Fergus laughed.
"Of course not milord, I cancel the meeting and meet you there." He said and then looked at me. "I still can't believe it," he whispered and then he dissapeard.
"Good to see he didn't changed much," I laughed As we walked further.
"Jenny teuk him in whin ah wis in jyle 'n' Englain. Efter mines return he wis eager tae hulp me in th' printshop," James told me. He pulled me closer to him and then whispered in mine ear. "Gods ah cannae wait tae hae ye alone tonight,"
I smiled as I thought about it. There where so many questions needed to be answered, so many stories to be told. 10 years seems a short time but in fact it was an awfully amount of time and for him it was 12 years. But Jamie had apparently other plans in his mind then talking since he wanted Fergus to babysit Eilidh.
We walked the Royal mile down and stopped at tavern where Jamie let us in.
"Wait here," he pressed a kiss on both our foreheads and then walked to the inn keeper.
"What do you think Eilidh?" I asked her and she looked from me to him.
"He is nice," she smiled. "And kind, just as ye said momma."
"He is," I pulled her closer towards me as Jamie walked back.
"Booked twa rooms near each ither fur a while, as soon as ah kin, ah will fin' a proper hame tae bide in or we cuid even return tae Lallybroch ," He laid his hand on my cheek. "Return hame,"
I smiled softly. "I would like that, I missed Jenny and Ian,"
"And they missed ye," He smiled and then let me go. "Come." He took my hand and dragged me up the stairs."Mama was a high praised Historian, she even recived a honour by the king," Eilidh told proudly as she eat her bread.
"A honor?" Jamie looked at me.
"Member of the British empire, for my work on the Jacobite Rising, which was extraordinary accurate, like I was there at the moment." I gave him a wink and he started to laugh.
"I'm so proud of ye," he grabbed mine hand. "And I have missed ye,"
"I know Jamie," I looked at Eilidh "Grab the photo's from the bag mo Grádh," Eilidh stood up and told Jamie Gaelic to wait for a minute.
"She speaks Gaelic?" He asked with raised eyebrows and I nodded proudly.
"She is has a talent for language just like you," Eilidh walked back and sat down next to Jamie.
"Look Da," she started to show him the pictures and Jamie looked at it.
Without saying both something Eilidh crawled on Jamie's lap and he placed his arms around her.
