The twins head down into the secret tunnel with nightguard Leonard promising to keep watch for them as they went in. "Look at this!" Mavis shines her light on the glyphs in the tunnel some depicting elderly natives, flowing currents of water and youthful natives. "Wanna bet this is way before the Spanish came here?" Jake said flashing his light on the map that show the same glyphs as on the walls of the cavernous tunnel. Mavis nods leading the way down into the darkness. "You know, before leaving, I managed to get this bottle from that glass and fine china shop we visited." He digs out a small round blue glass potion bottle from the front pouch of his pack.

"I thought it would come in handy once we find the Fountain of Youth and bring back some sort of proof that the legends are real

"I thought it would come in handy once we find the Fountain of Youth and bring back some sort of proof that the legends are real." He said handing it to her. She looks back at the empty corked bottle in his hand and holds it. "You thought right, Jake is it just me or are you suddenly going all big brain on me?" She said laughing a little.

He shrugs at his sister, "Might have to do with when I got hit face first and it triggered something."
"Could be and I'll hold our bottle in my bag for safe keeping."

"Do you really think we'll find the Fountain of Youth?"
"We will and if we work together, then it should be possible enough to find it."

"I think not, children..."

"Here we are now in a secret tunnel and guess what Jake had in mind when we clung to each other like scared koala bears."

They gasped holding each other close at the sound of the menacing voice echoing. "Mavis did you hear that?!" She nods looking back at her brother who dropped his flashlight. "We should run, as in right now!"

Jake grabbed his sister's wrist running for it through the pitch black darkness from they're mystery pursuer. "This makes no sense! No one can be able to live and let alone survive and thrive in this place for so long!"

They keep running until they came across a ravine and Mavis spots some vines hanging above them that'll help them get across. "You know what to do." He grins brightly taking her by the hand getting a running start and leaps grabbing a vine and swings across the ravine with her.

Mavis' scream echoes through the dark caverns making it across the ravine. "You still got it, sis." Jake said getting her away from the edge. "They can't get to us from here and my pitchy yell probably scared off whatever or whoever's been chasing us."
"Hooray for pitchy screaming!"

Once out of harm's way, they keep walking following the map until they stopped at a crossroads. Two other tunnels that could either lead them to certain doom or the Fountain. "I think we should go left!"
"Not so fast, sometimes the left path can lead to death."
"Can we go right, if that leads the way to the Fountain?"

Mavis sighs seeing that they're gonna be stuck here for who knows how long probably the whole night even. "We could explore one of the tunnel paths an-", she stops him right there, "Oh no, there is no way we are splitting up. We promised Lucenzo that neither of us would be coming back to San Francisco in body bags. So whatever we have to face, we face it together."  Jake can clearly see the determination in his sister's eyes.

They go down the path on the right hand in hand with the flashlight and the map but the light begins to flicker and then dies. "Oh come on! The batteries were just brand new." Jake said trying to beat it back to life. "Um Jake... did you by any chance pet my head?" "No, Mave an... did you just sniff my neck?!" The flashlight flickers back to life and they're surrounded by native strangers with weapons at the ready and they both scream making a run for it accidentally leaving the flashlight behind heading back to the crossroads they started in. "Did we lose them?" Jake held his knees trying to catch his breath. "I... I think we did." He wheezed out. Mavis got a water bottle from her bag making sure he gets hydrated. "Looked like the right path is well, the wrong path. Let's go left."
