PRESENT TIME
Donghyuck stared at the front door while chewing his bottom lip nervously, pulling his bag straps to make it tighter.
"Are you ready?" Johnny came out from the kitchen with his car keys, raising a brow at the younger boy, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Donghyuck mumbles, reaching towards the door handle, "I'll, um- I'll get in the car."
"Alright."
Donghyuck sat in the car and leaned against the car seat, pulling the seat belt over him and buckling in. He heaved a long sigh as the drivers seat door opened and Johnny got in, sitting next to him and revving up the engine.
"You excited?"
Donghyuck shook his head, staring out the window, "I shouldn't have suggested this."
Johnny chuckles and puts his arm around the seat, staring out the back of the car as he slowly backed the car out of their driveway, "I'm sure you will have a great first day. You can make more friends as well, it must be boring just having Jeno as a friend-"
"Actually i'm fine with Jeno," Donghyuck cut him off. showing no expression, "I don't need any more friends.. They disappoint me."
"Damn we getting emo?" Johnny chuckles but immediately stops when he realises his son was being completely serious. He cleared his throat and look at him briefly before turning back to the road, "Just trust me, Hyuck. You're going to have an amazing day and meet both good and bad people. Don't let the past bring you down, forget them. You've changed completely, your not the cute little chubby boy we all used to know."
Donghyuck nodded and pressed his lips into a thin line, maybe he should listen to his fathers advice.
They were silent for ten minutes before the huge school came into view, Donghyuck immediately sinking down in his seat and covering his face, his heart rate speeding up by the second.
"Here we are," Johnny smiles, "Ill pick you up here after school kid."
Donghyuck nods and gives him a hug, "B-Bye dad."
"Bye Hyuck," Johnny smiles and waves to the boy as he exits the car.
Donghyuck stands on the footpath, avoiding the stares from people as he watched Johnnys car drive off. He pulled his bag straps down and walked into the big school, keeping his head down the whole time.
He made his way to the office and glanced up, the office lady staring at him with an unreadable expression while typing on her computer, "Name?"
"Lee Donghyuck."
She nods and types something into her computer quickly, turning and grabbing something out the printer and handing it to him, "That is your schedule, if you can't find any of your classes ask another student. Don't ask me because i'm busy."
"Busy," he mutters quietly, scoffing and turning around and walking out the office.
His eyes rotated around the busy halls, it seemed everyone had their own small or big group of friends while he just stood alone not knowing where to go. Donghyuck is more of an introvert due to not holding a proper conversation with anyone other than his family, Jenos family, and random people he has met online.
He then peered down at his schedule and noticed it also had his locker location on it, number 127. He made his way through the busy halls, trying his best not to bump into anyone as he hurried down.
Donghyuck laid his eyes on the locker but noticed a group of sketchy looking people in front of it. He has watched enough movies to know that he shouldn't be rude to them so he walked up and gave them a fake smile, "Hello, can you guys please move because you're blocking my locker?"
"No."
Donghyuck scoffed, "Excuse me?"
The person who said that then turned so they were face to face, Donghyucks breath hitching as he saw the male. Damn, he seriously looked like a fallen angel.
"I said no."
Despite the male being extremely gorgeous.. He didn't care.
Donghyuck glared at him with gritted teeth, "And I said move."
The boy chuckled, "Damn, fiesty."
"Move."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"No."
"Yes-"
"Okay thank you!" Donghyuck smiled brightly and harshly pushed the boy out the way, waltzing up to his locker and putting the lock on it and putting his unnecessary books inside.
Just as he was about to close it someone slammed it shut for him, he turned and rolled his eyes when he saw the boy from before glaring at him.
"Do you need anything?" Donghyuck asked politely as if their whole conversation they had earlier didn't exist, trying to hide every inch of anger boiling inside of him.
"Yes, actually.. I do."
Donghyuck could see a small smirk forming on the slightly taller males face but he chose to ignore it, crossing his arms and staring at the boy with an annoyed expression.
"What is it?"
"You."
