Author's POV
Feeling - the experiencing of affective and emotional states.
Asher was kicking himself for his impulsive actions. He couldn't believe he had made out with a girl who had a reputation for being with almost every guy on campus. It was a mix of regret and anger swirling inside him. He knew it was a bad move, but in the heat of the moment, he had let his emotions take over. Now he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that was lingering in the pit of his stomach. Lesson learned, he thought to himself, as he vowed to think twice before acting on his impulses in the future.
Regret - a feeling of sadness, repentance, or disappointment over an occurrence or something that one has done or failed to do.
So there he was, slumped over at the table, trying to act casual but failing miserably. His eyes darted over to Serena, who was completely engrossed in the lecture, as usual. It was hard to stay mad at her when she looked so focused and determined. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes, trying to push away the memory of why he had lashed out at her earlier. It wasn't her fault, he knew that deep down. It was just the stress and frustration bubbling up inside of him, looking for any excuse to come out.
Flashback
Asher strode confidently through the gate alongside Blake, their presence drawing the attention of onlookers. It was hardly surprising, given that they were considered the most handsome guys at the University and among the youngest bachelors in the world. Today, Asher was resolute in seeking forgiveness from Serena.
The previous night had been sleepless for him, haunted by the echoes of her voice replaying in his mind. His remorse over his hurtful words lingered heavily within him; how could he have been so callous towards her? The weight of his guilt was palpable.
However, his contrition was short-lived as he caught sight of Serena standing close to a boy who professed his seemingly genuine love for her, a declaration Asher had dismissed as insincere. Unaware that the boy's feelings were indeed authentic, Asher's anger flared, propelling him towards the pair with a single-minded focus that caused him to forget about his companion, Blake, who was preoccupied with his phone.
As Blake eventually noticed his isolation and scanned the vicinity for Asher, he witnessed his friend storming towards Serena and the aforementioned 'Nick'. Initially assuming Asher intended to apologize to Serena, Blake's assumption proved erroneous as he hastened to intercept his friend, calling out to him in a bid to avert a potentially volatile confrontation.
"Asher"
"Asher"
Blake found himself unwittingly becoming the center of attention, drawing in a crowd with his emotional outburst. Amidst the chaos, Serena's ears perked up at the sound of Blake's voice, and as she turned, her eyes fell upon Asher striding towards them with an air of authority.
Unbeknownst to Asher, the world seemed to fade around him as he approached, his focus solely on the situation at hand. Without hesitation, he moved closer and shoved Nick, fixing him with a piercing glare. Serena, taken aback by the sudden turn of events, couldn't help but question Asher's actions. "Asher, what are you doing? Why are you pushing him?" she inquired, her voice laced with concern.
