//SHUICHI POV//

I held my hand out to him as he sat on the ground, tears spilling onto the pavement.

"Take my hand," I said.

The clear tears slowly painted the floor pink.

Pink?

It spilled from his body, and no tears fell.

He looked up at me, smiling.

"You can't cheat death," he grinned, as blood poured out of his mouth.

Out of everywhere.

He was bleeding.

I shut my eyes tightly.

"No, I saved you, the game is over, you're alive, Kokichi, you're alive," I screamed, covering my eyes with my hands.

But I couldn't leave him there.

I gained the courage to open them.

...

A pink splattered hydraulic press laid before me.

A cloth sleeve stuck out of the side, surrounded by a pool of blood.

I slowly walked towards it.

Through the scent of thick blood, I could catch a slight sniff of grape.

Grape?

Visions of the short, purple haired boy flooded my senses.

It's him.

Again.

It's always him.

All for nothing at all.

I really thought...

I thought the game was over...

I thought we were safe but-

...

I woke up to Kokichi stirring in bed next to me.

Oh.

It was a dream.

It felt so real.

Is this what Kokichi feels like?

It feels like the game never ended.

It hurts so much.

I feel so scared.

I looked at his face.

He seemed so peaceful.

His hair that was previously tied into a ponytail was now loose and sprawled across his pillow.

Maybe he could get a haircut today.

He's been wanting to get it cut, and he spent most of the time at the beach complaining about his hair getting in his face.

It's Sunday.

Sunday.

Maybe Kirumi knows how to cut hair.

I'll ask her.

I didn't want to get up yet, it felt nice just lying there with Kokichi.

I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and opened the group chat, looking for Kirumi's account.
