Everyone sat around a table, watching as an individual shuffled the deck of Uno cards. Jieun took her time, making sure she shuffled them properly. She held a single card out in her hand and hesitated. Soonyoung rolled his eyes impatiently, taking a drink of soju from his glass.

"Are you going to give us the cards or not?" he asked, irritation lining his voice. Their little roast battle earlier has sparked some competition. The situation now was win or die.

"Seven cards per person right?"

"Yes. Now hurry up."

Jieun, under the pressuring stares, rushed to hand out the cards to everyone. Soon everyone had all seven cards and the game began with a blue 7 card.

"Um... are we going to do switches?" Sooyun asked.

"Let's not," Yunseo answered. Everyone said nothing, keeping the silence. It seemed to be a universal agreement.

*turns go as followed: chan, sooyun, jieun, yunseo, minghao, soonyoung*

Chan went first. It was silence as everyone analysed their cards and noted the ones they had. You could hear the sound of Chan's card hitting the one card pile. It was a blue 4.

Poker faces surrounded the table as everyone waited for the next person to go. Sooyun scrunched her nose as she thought carefully about her next move before a voice rung out in an impatient tone.

"Hurryy uppp." Jieun drawled, fidgeting restlessly.

"Yeah! What she said!" Soonyoung agreed.

The targetted girl scowled at the two. With a huff, she placed down her card which was a blue seven.

"Yes! My turn." Jieun shouted, eyeing Soonyoung before putting a 2 card on the growing pile.

Yunseo smiled wickedly before placing a 2 card as well, causing Minghao to groan in what seemed to be defeat until he also laid a 2 card.

Soonyoung had a distraught expression masking his face when it was his turn as he picked up six cards. He glared at Jieun, who smirked.

"Looks like I'm winning~," she said in a singsong voice.

"S-shut up- just because you happen to have four cards and I have eleven doesn't mean the game is over just yet." Soonyoung tried hard to convince himself, but the doubt was evident in his voice.

"I don't know, sounds pretty decided already," Minghao commented. Soonyoung stayed silent as Chan placed a yellow three, the colours changing during the 2 turns. Sooyun kept the colour and so did Jieun.

Yunseo glanced at her cards, feeling slightly unsure of what she should do for her turn. Eventually, she decided to put down a red three. Minghao followed up by keeping the colour, causing Soonyoung's eyes to light up as he placed a red card, followed by two others the same colour.

"You suck at shuffling, Jieun," he said.

"Ugh." was the only thing she said as she realised that Soonyoung had significantly less cards than before and was catching up quickly with every turn.

This chapter sucks in so many ways I just didn't have inspiration to write
