Chapter 21: The Chamber

                                    

                                          
Y/N continued visiting Hermione everyday just to talk, telling her about his day and bringing the notes for that day's lessons since he knew she wanted to be kept up with school and she would probably kill him if he didn't, but this visit was different, he noticed something crumbled up on her outstretched hand, it was a piece of paper with the description of a Basilisk,  It  suddenly clicked as to why she went to the library and why she was carrying around a mirror.
"You're brilliant Hermione" Y/N said giving her a quick kiss on her forehead before leaving to tell the boys what Hermione found "Harry mate, you wont believe this" Y/N said running towards him, "What is it"
"I know what the monster is, Hermione found out the day she was petrified, thats what she was doing in the Library" Y/N said giving him the piece of paper that Hermione had. 
"A Basilisk - otherwise known as the King of Serpents - is a bright green snake, which can grow to an enormous size. It is a rare, wizard-bred creature, born from a chicken egg hatched beneath a toad; the creation of them is illegal and falls under the Ban on Experimental Breeding. Males are distinguishable from females by the bright red plume on their foreheads. Basilisks have long, poisonous fangs and shed their skin at intervals.If someone looks directly into the Basilisk's bulbous yellow eyes, then he or she will die instantly." he read through the page, "But wouldn't this mean that Hermione is dead" he asked, "Not entirely, you see people only die when they look at it directly on the eyes but every victim has seen the reflection of it, Mrs Norris saw it on the water, Colin through his camera, Justin saw it through Sir Nick, and Hermione saw it through the Mirror!" Y/N said going full Hermione Granger mode on him.
"We have to tell McGonagall" Y/N said, while they ran to her office they bumped into Ron who was coming out of the hospital wing, when he saw them he yelped and turned bright red, but Harry and Y/N ignored this for the time being, Harry went on to explain everything about what Hermione found out and joined them to find McGonagall, "All students please remain in your dormitories all teachers to the second floor corridor immediately" said McGonagall throughout the school, "I'm guessing we aren't going to our dorms?" Y/N asked as they shook their heads, "Good lets go then"
They reached the corridor and saw all the teachers running even Snape, " As you can see the Heir of Slytherin has left another message our worst fear has been realized, the students have to be sent home, I am afraid this is the end of Hogwarts" said McGonagall just then Lockhart came in, "So sorry, dozed off, what did I miss" he said cheerily, "Ah girl has been snatched by the monster Lockhart your moment has come at last" said Snape
Lockhart started to stutter, "M-My M- Moment?"
 "Weren't you saying just last night that you knew where the entrance to the chamber of secrets was all along?" said Snape with a smug look, "Then its settled, we will leave you to deal with the monster Gilderoy" , "Very well Ill just uh be in my office getting uh getting ready" and with that he was off to his office.
"Who is it that the monster's taken Minerva" asked Madam Pomfrey, "Ginny Weasley" Harry and Y/N looked at Ron to see a look of pure horror like they had never seen before, when the teachers moved they were able to see the message clearly
