Chapter 3 : Volleyball

                                    

                                          
School was hectic as usual but after school activities was the part that I'm actually waiting for. I'm actually going to meet Koushi's volleyball team. 
                          
As soon the bell rang, I sprinted through the crowd of the students of crows. And I passed by Yukari's class. 
                          
I saw the greyish black haired girl was minding her own business. "Yukari-chan, hi." I greeted her and walked besides her. "Oh, Sumire-san...what are you doing?" She asked in her usual stoic tone, I poked her pale cheek and grinned. "I'm invited to see their match at the gym!" Yukari tilted her head, "Volleyball?" Beads of sweat running my face. I nodded.
                          
Yukari hummed and agreed to come with me. As we arrived, I immediately looking for Koushi or Kiyoko or at least Daichi, since we were friend.
                          
I spotted Kiyoko over at the other of the gym. "Kiyoko!" The black haired female looked at me and smiled. "Nice seeing you here, Sumire." She said and spotted little Yukari. 
                          
"And you?" 
                          
"Oh, this is the new member of the art club, Yukari-chan!" I gleefully said. 
                          
Kiyoko nodded and shook little nervous Yukari. "Why aren't you doing your club activities?" She asked, my face went from happy to despair. "Even though I'm the vice president of the club, I didn't get any info...it kinda hurt..." She chuckled and let us in. 
                          
"Where are Koushi and Daichi?" I asked Kiyoko. "Oh, they haven't gotten here." Yukari meanwhile was mesmerized by the view of the gym. She had been there of course, but she never saw empty. 
                          
Kiyoko looked at me with a cunning glare and looked away. I was sketching in my sketchpad. 
                          
"Hashimoto?" Someone called out my name. It was Daichi, Koushi, and a Buddha reincarnated? 
                          
"Hello, there!" I waved my hand as Yukari quickly scoot over to my shoulder. "TWO NEW GIRL MANAGERS!? THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!" The baldy said. 
                          
"She's not going to be a manager, Tanaka. She's already in a club." The guy that I liked said, obviously it was Koushi. He sat next to me making me red, and saw my sketch. It was Yukari mesmerized by the view. 
                          
"Great, you're getting better than yesterday!" Koushi smiled. Tanaka snapped and looked at us for a few seconds and he pretended that he put the pieces together. 
                          
"You guys are dating are you?" He pointed at us. Me being the nervous wreck in this sort of situations suddenly flinched and hugged both Yukari and Koushi. 
                          
Tanaka grinned and tried to be cool. "No, we're not. We're just childhood best friends!" Koushi said putting my sketchpad down. "So, who are you? Suga-san's childhood best friends?" I was really nervous but I cleared my voice and said my name, I looked at Koushi who looked like my mom after she saw me being friends with someone. 
                          
"Then, who's this? She looks like a love child between you two!" (a/n : Todoroki?!) Tanaka snickered to Yukari. Yukari flinched and hid behind my back. 'L-love child?!' I thought to myself. "Stop thinking those gross stuff, Tanaka. Hashimoto this is Ryuunosuke Tanaka, a second year. She's your senpai for God's sake." Daichi introduced the guy.
                          
"Hi, everyone!" Another voice called. It was the human tangerine, Hinata and a tall guy. "Ah, hi Hashimoto-san...hello Ono-san!" Hinata greeted us. I tried to resist myself from the incident happened again but the inner mother in me can't take it. Before I could even pinch their cheeks, I was lifted up to the air. 
                          
Everyone was shocked because the one who lifted me was, Koushi. I blush all shades of pink. I know that I'm short but I didn't knew that I was this light. "No more smothering Yukari-chan and Hinata!" He scolded me. 
                          
"Koushi...could p-please put m-me d-d-down?" I stuttered, Koushi realized this and immediately put me down to see two more members. 
                          
"I can't believed that actually happened..." I hid my embarrass face in Kiyoko's chest. Kiyoko giggled and stroke my raven hair. "Maybe, resist of pinching the first years cheeks." 
                          
"Oh crap, you're right, Kiyoko."
                          
The members were so tall, even Daichi was shocked. I walked to Koushi who was alone inspecting some papers. "What's that?" I peaked my head. "Oh, these are their club registration papers." I looked at the names and asked who are their names. 
                          
"So, Kageyama is the one who's with Hinata and now's drinking a milk box. Tsukishima is the tall french fry with glasses. And Yamaguchi is the one who looks like a top of a carrot and has freckles?" I stated and Koushi nodded. 
                          
"They're so tall, you sure they need to jump?" I playfully slapped his back. He laughed, "C'mon, you know the net is not that short, Sumi." He ruffled my raven locks.
                          
"Oh, Daichi-san. When will me and Kiyoko-san will be like that?" Tanaka daydreaming from the site. Daichi brushed it off as the Buddha looking guy daydreams. 
                          
I took a glance to Yukari, to saw her talking normally to Hinata and Kageyama. I smiled and especially Koushi noticed and looked. 
                          
•~Sugawara's pov~•
                          
Sumire was smiling about something, I looked what she was looking at it was, Yukari chatting with Hinata and Kageyama. 
                          
I smiled, I felt like a proud mom. 'Is this what mom feel like when she was proud of me?' I zoned out until it was broken by a snap of fingers by Sumire. 
                          
"I thought you died or something." Sumire sighed. I like the way she said that, I still didn't forgave myself for lifting her up in front of everyone. 
                          
"The match is about to start in a few minutes." I announced. And left Sumire to herself and her sketchpad. 
                          
I ran to Kageyama to give him a boost of courage but what he replied with was shocking. "Hey, Kageyama! Do your best, if you win, you're going to be a setter!" I cheerfully encouraged him. "Is Hashimoto-san Sugawara-san's girlfriend?" I couldn't blame him, our parents even thought that we were actually in a secret relationship.
                          
"No, no, no, we're just best friends!" I stuttered and waving my hands like I on drugs or something. I guessed Tanaka saw me and went behind my back. "WE're JuSt FrIeNdS!! Stop hiding your true feelings, Suga-san!" Tanaka's teasing was really complicated to get out to. 
                          
"Now you're acting immature, Tanaka..." I sternly glared and Tanaka just grinned and went back to his spot. 
                          
I went back to sit next to Sumire. And I saw a figure in her sketchpad. "What are you drawing?" I asked her out of curiosity, she flinched a little but she told me that it was secret. I pouted but she just giggled.
                          
"Where's Kiyoko?" She asked me and touched my arm. 'That's it, I'm not going to wash this arm ever again!'. 
                          
I heard Tanaka shouted a 'whoo' and started to sing a love song. I was really disgusted but I didn't showed it. 
                          
"Uh...I think she's washing or getting the jackets." I whispered to her ear that is covered by her raven hair. She nodded and called Yukari to find Kiyoko. Good timing as well, as the guys started changing. 
                          
"Why did you let her go, Suga-san?" Tanaka pouted, I just answered with a "Yukari-chan and Sumire are too innocent for your dirty mind!" I also said it with a moving my index finger side to side, y'know, like a mother would.
