Halloween Special #1

Start from the beginning

"Boo!!" I let out a loud scream, I quickly turned around and punched Satoru in the face. He fell backward, hitting the floor with a hard thud. "What was that for?!" He shouted, popping back up to his feet. "Oh here we go," Gray sighed, "I did that because I hate being jump scared like that, you idiot!" I argued, "It's true. She'll punch anyone who jump scares her." Juvia said, "How do you know that?" Carla asked, looking over to her. "Gajeel's done it multiple times, seen him get punched in various places because of it." She explained, shrugging her shoulders. "That doesn't give too the right to hit me." He said, turning his face back towards me. Just as I was about to hit him again, the carriage came to a quick stop causing me to fall back into my seat and Satoru to hit the floor again.

"What was that?" I asked, rubbing my butt as I looked to Erza, who seemed alarmed by what just happened.

As I went to stand up to look outside, the carriage started to move as if it was floating. "What the hell?" Gray looked over to me and from outside, we could hear the driver of the carriage scream. I stumbled over towards the window near Natsu and peeked out the window, seeing we were floating just a few feet off the ground.

"Natsume, what's wrong?" Wendy asked, looking over at me.

"We're floating. The whole carriage is floating above the ground. But there's nobody causing it." Just as I said that to the group, the carriage stopped floating. Everyone let out a scream as we were thrown around the carriage, which had hit the ground and started rolling. I shut my eyes tightly, holding onto Lucky as we were thrown around. After a few minutes of absolute terror, the carriage finally stopped rolling. When I opened my eyes, I became embarrassed when I noticed that my boobs were in Chase's face. Lucky was laying underneath Chase's arm, looking absolutely terrified. My face burned brightly as I quickly got off of him, turning my attention away from him and towards everyone else.

"Is everyone okay?" Erza asked, standing to her feet.

"Yeah,"

"Natsume, are you sure you didn't see anyone standing outside the carriage?" Erza asked, we were all standing outside of the carriage at this point trying to figure out what really happened. "I'm sure. The driver ran off. There was nobody out here but us." I explained, crossing my arms. "If it was only just us, what caused the carriage to float, hit the ground and start rolling without somebody pulling the strings?" Lucy asked, looking to Erza.

"I think I know why the carriage floated without a trace of who did it." Levy spoke up, I looked to see that her back was turned to us. "What is it, Levy?" Freed asked, looking over at her. "We're here." Gray and I made eye contact, before looking to what Levy was looking at. My eyes widened as I realized we were standing right in front of the town, which desperately needed help.

"How long has this been going on?" I asked, taking my seat in between Lucy and Natsu while Lucky plopped down on Natsu's lap. "A few weeks..." Mr. Lui, the town's mayor said lowly, "Things have become really hard... I mean, not only do we have these strange things happening, but it's been hard trying to keep everyone in good spirits." Mrs. Lui spoke, I noticed that she had bags under her eyes. "Where would you say most of the 'hauntings' or strange occurrences have taken place?" Freed asked, "It doesn't just happen in one place. It occurs all over town and it's causing mass hysteria." I looked over to Erza, knowing that we were going to have to dig deep to solve this. Mr. Lui showed us where we would be staying for our duration of the mission, I ended up in a room with Juvia. Since it was late when we finally settled in, I decided to go to sleep but I couldn't shake the strange feeling I had that somebody was watching me.

"Natsume, wake up." I was lightly shaken, "No.." I groaned, turning onto my side.

"Natsume, get up!" I sat up, rubbing my eyes seeing Freed standing to my left. He must have been the one to wake me up, which got me wondering where Juvia was. "What Freed? It's three in the morning. What is so important you had to wake me up this early?" Before he opened his mouth, the bedroom was thrown open. In the doorway stood Lucy and Chase, both of them looked equally freaked. "What is going on?" I looked to Lucy, just as the building shook heavily. I stood to my feet, looking over at Lucky, who seemed alarmed.

"Something came out of the woods. Erza thinks that thing might be what is causing the hauntings around town." Lucy explained, "Where is everyone?" I asked, looking to Chase. "Juvia and my brother are trying to get the townspeople away from here." He explained, "I already set up a rune around the forest, hopefully it'll keep that thing out of the town but just to be safe the others went to fight it." Freed explained, "Take me to them." We rushed out of the hotel building, heading towards the others when a part of the rune wall came crashing down on a nearby house. "I'll go deal with it. Go ahead." Freed said, heading off with Chase.

"What's this thing look like, Lucy?" I looked over to her, "The thing is we can't see it." She looked over at me, "What do you mean?" Lucky asked, nearly panicking. "I mean that this thing is either has  invisibility magic or it's a ghost of some kind." I nearly tripped over myself after hearing that, which Lucky caught onto. When we arrived, Natsu was thrown into a nearby building while Erza had a tough time trying to find where it was. "Natsume, watch out!!" I was tackled to the ground, as a large force off wind passed over me and the person who tackled me. "What was that?" I panicked, sitting up quickly. "We don't know... That thing... It's some sort of beast. But we can't see it." Juvia explained, she had been the one who tackled me. Things started to get out of hand, when Wendy was thrown into the mayor's house which was further away. I had nearly been stepped on several times, thrown into several trees and kicked in the air a bunch of times and I was starting to get fed up. I had just been thrown into another building and I could hear the others screaming for me faintly, we were all struggling against the damn thing.

"That's it!! I'm stopping this now!!" I shouted in anger, shaking debris off of me. The area exploded as fire and ice shrouded my body, "Natsume, what are you doing?!! We need a plan to take that thing down, we can't even see it!!" Erza yelled, as I charged at that thing. I could tell it was standing in front of us, because of the giant footsteps on the ground. "Screw that!! Levy, you got something that could possibly reveal that thing? Paint, maybe?" I shouted to her, she gasped before thinking and quickly acted on it. She casted a spell, helping reveal the outline of the thing. "Guys, I think she's got a plan!" Lucky said, looking back at the group.

"Natsu!! Gray!!" The two quickly followed after me, Levy looked and I looked at each, nodding as we made eye contact. "Natsu, go left!! Gray, go right! I'll take the front, Wendy, Carla, you're with me. Erza, Lucy, you hit that thing with everything you got in the back. Levy amd Juvia, I need you two to set a trap for that thing." They nodded, "Lucky?" She flew me up in the air, "Are you sure this will work?" Carla asked, "I hope so. Wendy, you ready?" She gave a determined look, nodding at me. "On my count... 1...2.... 3...! Now!!" We hit that thing we everything we had, taking it down for good which made me laugh before passing out. Fighting that thing really took it out of me, and I know one thing was for sure, I hated taking missions on holidays.

After taking down that giant beast, we were thanked by the townspeople. So it didn't take long to make it back home in time to catch the performance and go trick-or-treating with Lucky and Lucy, and I must say we had a good time. "Natsume, I promise, next year we will celebrate holidays together at home and not on missions." Natsu held out his pinky, making me look over at him. "You promise?" I raised an eyebrow at him, "I swear on Happy's life that I will keep my promise." He stated, "Hey!!! I heard that!!" Happy shouted, making Lucy and I chuckle.
