After a last check up, Dr. Stevens discharged Cari from the hospital that afternoon. She and her mother had everything set to leave, they were just waiting for Shannon so they could go to her place like they agreed earlier that day. She was relieved and anxious at the same time with the situation. She never found a good enough opportunity to talk about them and she wasn't even sure if she would be able to do such thing at that moment. She didn't know exactly how to react when Shannon was next to her. Her mind was still very disturbed and it was difficult to keep a thought for too long without being terrorized with bad memories. It was getting better, but sometimes she couldn't even focus on simple questions that her mother, Dr. Stevens or even Shannon would ask her.

"Cari, you're gonna open a hole on the floor if you keep moving those feet so fast." Olivia said. "Are you ok?"

"Huh?" Cari came out of her trance when she heard her mother asking her something that she had no idea what it was.

"Why are you so nervous?"

"Nervous? I'm not nervous."

"C'mon Cari, I'm not dumb." Olivia held Cari's restless hand. "Are you nervous about going to your ex girlfriend's house?"

"No... I mean... yes, kinda? I don't know. It's just... things are weird right now between us and we didn't have a chance to talk much yet and I feel like my mind is too confused to do that so I don't know what to do and there's still the fact that I saw her with that woman at the beach and I don't even know how she feels about me, I mean, if she feels something at all and..." Cari stopped rambling when the door opened and Shannon walked into the room. "...she's here, hi!" She said standing up immediately.

"Hi." Shannon responded confused. "Everything okay?"

"Yes, you?"

"I'm good. Happy to see you so vibrant." Shannon said watching her meticulously. "Are you guys ready to go?"

"Yes, we're ready." Olivia said.

"Perfect, we can... Hey, don't even think about it!" Shannon said when Cari grabbed the handles of her bag over the bed. "Leave that to me."

"It's okay, I can do that."

"Absolutely not. Dr. Stevens said that you still have a long way to go and need lots of care so he discharged you under the condition that I would keep an eye on you and make sure that you were following his instructions, so, from now on, you're under my responsibility." Shannon said, gently taking the bag from her.

"Shannon is right darling, you need to take it slow, you can't push yourself too much yet."

"Okay then."

After a quick stop at Cari's apartment to grab some stuff they needed, they headed to Shannon's place. Cari was invaded with an intense nostalgic feeling when they stepped inside the house. There were too many memories wandering inside of those walls. Too many kisses exchanged on that big gray sofa and too many moments shared at every space she could look at.

"Well, Cari already knows the place, but I'll show you around later Olivia, let me take you guys to your rooms first." Shannon said closing the door behind them. "Cari, I wasn't sure if you'd rather stay alone or if you need company during the night so I asked Sarah to set all the rooms, I think you know this place well enough so you can honestly choose wherever you wanna stay."

The first thought that came to Cari's mind was all of the memories they had shared in Shannon's room. If she was going to be honest with herself, her real wish was to spend the night with Shannon, in her arms, in the bed where they shared the most intense feelings and sensations of their lives, but she knew it was too early to ask for such a thing. There were still too many things they needed to solve before anything else.
