First day on campus. Well, second. Yesterday I arrived at the rodeo arena where all of the rodeo horses and some of the practice cattle are kept. Bentley was content there. He's my roping horse. I want to say he's a chestnut brindle. Rare for a horse to have the brindle coat. He got it though. His show name is Whiskey Bent. His other half or partner in crime who could not come along is Hell Bound or Demon for short.

Everyone gets a kick out of it though. Back to me scouring the campus trying to find my residence hall. It just so happened to be in the athletics residence hall. The floors are coed. Meaning I could have guy floormates across the hall from me and my roommate. I walked up the stairs to the second floor. Down the right side of the split hall, and to the left.

My guess is they put all of the rodeo freshmen together to make it easier. I found my room, it already had a picture of me and Bent on the door to signify our room. Another girl throwing a loop was on the other side of the door. I knocked just in case before going in. No one was in the room.

I could tell though someone had been inside. One bare, unmade bed sat on one side while the other had a nice and neat bed made and stuff piled around it. I shrugged and sat my duffle on the bare unmade bed. "Hey! You must be Remmington." A female voice said. I turned. "I am." I said. "Bailie." She said extending her arm. I shook her hand.

"You rope?" She asked. "I do. And ride bulls and saddle bronc when I feel like it." I said. "Sweet! We are going to get along perfectly!" She said. "Do you have anymore stuff?" She asked almost questioning the duffle. "Yes. It's in my truck." I said. "I'll help ya bring it up." She said.

We walked down to my truck and we both hauled up the few boxes I had. One containing my bedding.

"I love your bedding!" Bailie said

"I love your bedding!" Bailie said. "Thanks. My parents got it for me a few years ago when they started rodeoing again until I turned eighteen." I said. "Ok. I know this is short term but, we need to finish decorating our door. All of the girls make theirs pretty and the guys display achievements and photos of them competing." She said.

That's exactly what we did all afternoon. I put my name on the top of the door and Bentley's at the bottom. "So what is Bentley's registered name?" Bailie asked. "Whiskey Bent." I answered. "Then where's hell bound?" Came a new voice. A guy had strolled through to the room across from us. "He's at home munching oats. But we call him demon." I replied.

"I'm Mac. My roommate is Jasper." He said. "Oh. Ok. Still new to all of this." I said. "Yeah. College is a fun ride, but once you get the hang of it its not that bad." Mac said. I nodded at his comment. "Once freshmen get out of the dorm rooms, y'all can move into a house we all pay for and its cheaper than living in the dorms." Mac said. "They always ask us who wants to stay in the dorms to help out our freshman teammates." He said. "I'm guessing you are a sophomore or junior?" I asked.

"Nope. I am the only senior that would rather stay in the dorms than go live in a 'party' house." He said using quotations around party. "Most likely they will put you two in the same house since y'all will be roping partners." He said. "Hey Mac, you checking out the new girls?" A guy came up asking. "This would be Jasper. He's not a party animal either until he's had a little liquor slipped to him." Mac said.

"Remi." "Bailie." We said shaking his hand while introducing ourselves. He nodded. "I've got to grab something before heading over to the gym. Be back before dinner." Jasper said before disappearing into the dorm room across from ours.
