Elias

After we got out of school for the summer, our parents took us on vacation. They thought it would be a fantastic idea to leave at the butt crack of dawn. Hell, it isn't even dawn. It's night.

I slept soundly. Well, because I'm deaf and don't have my hearing aids in my ears. I didn't feel my phone vibrate, but I felt ice water hit me. I jolt up to see Dad standing there with a bucket.

What the fuck?

"Get up before we miss our flight," dad signed.

I looked at dad like he has two heads. I grabbed my hearing aids and put them in, turning them on.

"I don't care if it's summer break! I told you to get up! Well, perhaps you should have gone to bed as we told you! Don't give me that look, Nathaniel!" Mom yelled.

"Get dress. I have to help your ma wrangle your brothers," dad said as I nodded. Dad left my bedroom. "I swear, Deacon! Get dress because no one wants to see you hanging out!" Dad yelled.

"I used the bathroom, then Nate shoved me out of it before I pulled my shorts up!" Deacon yelled.

"Nathaniel! Don't give me that look!" Dad yelled.

People wonder why I turn off my hearing aids. Wouldn't you turn them off if your family yelled at four in the morning?

I dressed and grabbed my suitcase. I waited in the living room as my family joined me after much yelling. We left for the airport. Once we arrived, dad parked the car, and we got out, dragging our bags into the airport to check-in. I tossed my bag onto a cart and strolled over to Owen, who sat in a chair, sleeping. I smacked him on the back of the head, waking him.

"You're a tool," Owen huffed.

"Well, don't be sleeping," I answered.

We watched our parents argue with our siblings, along with our cousins. Yeah, this trip should be fun.

"I don't care if you're thirsty, you can wait," Markus told Jayden.

"I'm hungry," Kayden said.

"Suck it up. I told you to eat before we left," Hayden replied

"No, you can't switch seats," Larissa told Grayson.

"Why do I need to sit next to this goober?" Grayson asked, pointing at Nash.

"Who says I want to sit next to you?" Nash asked.

"Will you stop touching your cousin?" Mason asked Oliver.

"It's not my fault that Deacon deserves a slap," Oliver mentioned with a shrug.

"Why are we in hell?" Owen asked me.

"Because we are," I answered, sighing. I didn't know why our parents thought this is a fantastic idea to vacation together. One more year of school and I'm leaving for college. I couldn't wait.

Matt

We boarded the plane. Thank god because I'm sure my boys would drive me nuts. I realized that when you're an only child, you don't deal with the issues of having siblings.

We found our seats and sat down. I glanced at the boys who messed with each other as Nora sat down next to me.

"Matt, the boys are fine," Nora assured me.

I looked at Nora. "I know, but I worry about when they leave, especially Elias," I mentioned.

Nora looked at me with concern.
