Authors note: Hey Guys, I had fun writing this chapter, and I hope you enjoy it!

General POV:

Then all of a sudden the roof collapsed.

"Sylvie!" Matt yells.

No response.

"Sylvie!"

Matt's POV:

I get up and take a look. Our patient is gone. She bled out from the impact of the collapse.

But I still don't see Sylvie. I can't lose her. This must have been how she felt when I wasn't coming out of that building. Two roofs collapse on me in less than a day. And the second one, has the love of my life in it. She can't be gone. I never got to tell her how I feel. And Amelia, she can't lose another mom. I should have never called her in here.

Sylvie's POV:

After the collapse. I get knocked out. I wake up and all I can think about is Matt and Amelia. That little girl can't lose anyone else. And Matt, I never got to tell him how I feel. Then all of a sudden I hear a voice. It's Matt's.

"Sylvie!"

"Matt?"

"Where are you, Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

General POV:

Sylvie stands up and looks at Matt. There's a sign of relief from both Matt and Sylvie. She starts limping over to him.

"Hey, what's wrong with your leg?" Matt asks.

"I think something's broken, but I'll be fine."

"You shouldn't be walking on it."

Then Matt picks her up bridal style and sets her gently down on the floor.

"How's the victim?"

"She's uh- um she's gone. She bled out."

"Oh." Sylvie starts to cry.

"Hey, there's nothing we could have done." Matt tells her.

"I know. But that could have been one of us."

"I'm so sorry for calling you in here, I never should have in the first place."

"You didn't know. It's not your fault."

"We need to get out of here before it collapses more, does your radio work?" Matt asks.

"No."

"Mine doesn't either. Okay, you stay here and rest that leg and I'll try and find a way out."

"Okay." Sylvie responds. She didn't want Matt to leave but she knew they needed to get out.

A few minutes later Matt returns.

"I didn't see anything that could help. We're just going to have to wait. Damn it." He yells.

Sylvie can tell he's frustrated. And that's understandable. But she can't help but cry. She's scared. She's scared for herself, for Amelia, and for Matt. What if they didn't make it out? Amelia would have no one.

Matt immediately notices and sits right by her. He pulls her into his arms.

"What's wrong Sylvie?"

"It's just that, what about Amelia? I mean if we don't make it out, she's got nobody. I'm the closest thing she has to a mother, and honestly your the closest thing she has to a father. She adores you just as much as you adore her and-"
