Chapter 11

“You know, in some ways I actually envy this baby.” I said pouring mummy one of my home made lemonade.

“What? Why?” Mummy looked up startled.

“You know.” I shrugged sitting down on the chair next to her after handing her, her lemonade. “Its just this baby is going to have a proper family, its always going to be loved. I never had that when I was a baby.”

She rubbed my arms, “Don’t be baby, you’ve got a family now too, and I’ll love you two just as much as each other.”

I felt a wave of jealousy hit me, I chuckled. “See I even get jealous at that because now your love for me has halved and half has gone to her. It used to be just for me.” I said with tears in my eyes.

“Don’t think of it like that, think of it as.....” She trailed off thinking. “That my heart has increased in size and you haven’t lost any of my love.” She smiled.

“Your heart can’t increase mummy.” I teased.

She pulled me into a hug and sighed, “Why do you have to be so intelligent. Why can’t you just believe what I say again, like you used too.”

“Like when you used to say, Harry loved me.” I pulled away from her,  frowning.

I just don’t know why but mummy and I haven’t really been getting along often. So Paul and I have been getting closer than ever now.

“Look Abbie-.” Mummy started but she was cut off by a huge crash of thunder.

“Lets get inside.” I said quickly dragging her inside she’s eight mouths pregnant she should be inside resting. Yes, I am jealous of the baby but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love the baby or my mummy.

Just as we got inside the rain started, slowly at first but then started to get heavier and heavier until big droplets came down.

“Abbie, your dad did love you at first you know.” Mummy said, walking out of the room. “And I know he still does.”

I frowned, No he didn’t. He never has and he never will, I was a fool when I was little I thought I could make him love me by being good all the time and cleaning the house-nothing worked.

I followed her out of the room, “Mummy?” I asked, when I saw the basement door open. I hesitated, getting flashed backs of when Harry threw me in the basement when I was being naughty.

I shuttered at the thought.

A crash of lightning booms and the lights start to flicker, I jumped and ran into the basement after her.

“Mummy.” I hissed, into the dark, the light flickered back on and I saw Mummy in the middle of heaps of box’s.

“Just look.” She said, pulling me over to the box. “These are all of the memories of Harry I’ve got.” She looked at me with tears in his blue eyes. “Here.” She passed me a picture of Harry and a little girl, Harry was kissing the girl on the cheek. The little girl looked a lot like me, and I realized it is me. I was smiling so widely that it looked like it actually hurt my face.

I smiled as I pulled out my diary, that I used to always write in about everything it was my best friend. Flipping the old pages over I started to read one entry;
