July 24th 2007 Friday Heaven is 1 and half months old Derek goes back to work in 2 weeks, they are looking for nanny
Spencer's POV
Me and Derek put out an ad for a nanny and we got a lot of responses we liked this one girl Katie Sullivan shes 23 lives nearby she seems nice and I want to set up a meeting, so while Derek burped Heaven after eating I dialed her number it rang once, twice
"Hello" she answered
"Hi may I speak to Katie Sullivan" I asked
"speaking" her sweet voice spoke
"Hello this is Spencer Reid about the nanny job you applied for"
"oh yes, what's up" she sounded a little happier
"I wanted to meet you and talk and sign a contract" I proposed
"When are free?" she asked
"today at 2?" I crossed my fingers
"That is perfect"
"I'll see you then" she agreed, we hung up
I looked over at Derek and Heaven, they were sleeping I kissed their cheeks and I tried take Heaven off of his chest but he wouldn't let me
"alright fine" I let them be
once it was about 1:30 Heaven had a bath and was in a pink and white onesie and sat in the bouncy chair on the coffee table, me and Derek waited to meet Katie. about 20 minutes later the doorbell rang, Derek got up and opened the door
"Katie?" he asked
"Yes" she put out her hand to shake
"I'm Derek, please come in" he shook her hand
"Spencer" I stood to shake her hand
"Katie" she shook my hand
"Let's sit over here" I walked towards the island
We all sat down and she put her purse on the back of the chair
"So tell me about yourself, where did you grow up have any siblings that kind of thing" I started
"Uh yeah, I grew up in Wisconsin, I'm the oldest of 7 children I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I went to Virginia state and got my masters degree in child care, after that I worked at a daycare" she smiled and nodded
"Why did you leave the daycare" Derek asked I was also curious
"I just wanted a more personal connection when came to the children I looked after so I became a nanny" she answered
"Great, um there are a couple things that are a little odder than usual" Derek spoke
"Okay" she took out a notepad and pen me and Derek smiled at each other knowing me made the right choice
"We have a vey inconsistent schedule, some days we might just go to the office and come back after the day. Others we might be gone for a couple weeks at max. So your pay will rely on how much you worked that week" I explained as she wrote
"That is no problem at all" she looked at me
"So this a contract for 3 years, we can always renew the contract after that" I slid her paper she took a moment read it through. Smart one this girl is.
"Okay I sign here" she picked up the pen
"Yes right here" she nodded and signed her name, I did the same and lastly Derek.
