Friday
I got in Darius car and adjusted my sneakers.
"I missed it when you'd kiss me first thing when you enter my car." He said.
I smiled and leaned in for a peck.
"Sorry I got caught up with my hair I almost lost track in time." I said.
He looked up at my hair and back to the road.
"It's nice did it grow over night or something?" He said making me laugh.
Since my hair was starting to damage I decided to start doing clips in and weave. I now regretted always applying heat to my heat everyday not I don't even have a curl pattern.
"Well opposite of that actually. It's a sew in at the back." I said.
"A what?" He said. I forgot he probably doesn't even know what weave is.
"It's extensions." I laughed.
"Oh those. You don't need that your hair is so long." He said.
"And damaged. All it does is straighten up." I said. He chuckled.
"Well I like you natural and anyway else." He said as he held my hand and kissed it. I smiled and looked out the window.
"Where are we going?"
"Well you never really properly met my dad." He said. I thought about the time he almost walked in on us. I honestly avoided going to Darius' place after that.
"Yeah." I said.
"Well he's home and he told me to bring you." He said.
"He did?" I said making him chuckle.
"Yeah. Don't worry about that other time. He completely forgot about it." He said.
"I don't know if I could face without feeling embarrassed."
"I feel you but just think of it as you're meeting for the first time." He said.
"I mean, I'm not even dressed properly." I said.
"It's not a dinner you look fine." He chuckled.
He gave my hand a squeeze as he drove. A couple minutes later and arrived at his house. We both stepped out and Darius lead me to the side gate instead of the front door.
I guessing his dad was at the back.
We continued walking until we reached the big backyard.
I immediately spotted his dad playing with Sam on the field. Sam stopped playing and ran towards us almost knocking Darius down.
"Wow your getting heavy." Darius laughed. Sam wagged his tail as he rubbed against me. I smiled as I ran my hands against his soft fur.
Darius' dad walked towards us with a formal look on his face. He was smiling as though he's been waiting for us.
I've seen him around but it's whenever he's busy or getting back from work. I didn't expect him to be this welcoming.
"Dad this is Desiree. The girl you always see but never got to meet." Darius said. His dad laughed.
"Nice to meet you sir." I smiled.
"The only place I get called sir is at my office. Call me Greg." He smiled.
"Or Mr. Greg." Darius said.
