33. Freezing water and realisations

Start from the beginning

Later I needed to record a video for my Instagram stories, wishing my followers a happy new year. Beth forced me to do so, but she did so much for me that if this made her happy, I happily filmed myself saying some basic sentence. It only took thirty seconds of my time and some people would feel appreciated, so it was all for a good cause.

Cleaning the house after a wild night took a lot of time. All the bedding needed to be washed, as well as our coats that all smelled like smoke. Luckily, Sabrina offered to mop the floor, Sarah washed the windows, stained with gunpowder and grime. Carla went full-on panic mode, so we locked her in mums bedroom. Andrea walked the dog with his daughter so fewer people stood in our ways. The kitchen was the worst, shattered glass, puddles off wine, receipts scattered across the floor, it never looked this disgusting.

To start our new year with cleaning, was far of my expectations. Though, when everything could be placed in a home magazine again, I felt immensely proud of my team, even though some didn't work as hard as others. I wiped the sweat off my head and sighed when everyone, except for Sabrina, said goodbye. My best friend and I sat down on the stairs and I rested my head against her shoulder. We barely formed a conversation until Sophia came to interrupt us.

"We won't see the Shrek lookalike ever again," my sister said as she scrolled through her phone. I narrowed my eyes, the last time I saw that guy he passed out in the bushes. "Mum started a fight after he vandalised Mrs Carol from number 51 her car." Sabrina and I gasped at the same time. "Why so surprised?" I shrugged and pouted my bottom lip. "Well, mum her year started off great, she's FaceTiming her therapist now, don't bother her." Sophia took place on the step in front of us. She leaned against my legs and rested her head on my knees. I saw her face upside down, which looked funny to me. "You have a booger hanging in your nose." I rolled my eyes and rubbed my nose. Soph nodded. "You know-"

-"any more complaints?" I asked.

"Yes actually," she said. "Dad wished all of us a happy new year." I clenched my jaw. "And I want you to say the same to him. I don't like him either, but we still need to respect him, Daisy."

"No, you need to respect him. You might not remember him ditching us that well, but I do and he didn't treat us with kindness so I'm not showing him any respect," I stated. "You only use him for presents."

"So? He doesn't have any other added value in my life except for being my human wallet," her voice sounded softer and softer with every word she said. She came to realise she didn't exactly admire him either. "Oh shit, I'm turning into you!" She said.

"And what's wrong with that?" I chuckled, I wasn't sure about how to take her statement, but considering the 'oh shit' I assumed the worst. "I make a million a year for doing what I love most and I don't need to pay for food anymore."

"I meant not formula 1 related Daisy," she sighed. "Letting others believe they're important to you while gaining an advantage of them." I raised my brows. The people in my life seriously had impact on my life in a positive way, I must admit, at age 15, I made sure to get some sponsors due to socialising with David his rich friends, but now I certainly wouldn't take advantage of someone on purpose. "If you hadn't had George wrapped around your finger, he wouldn't have crashed in Sochi huh?"

"That's not true, it was a racing incident, it happens all the time!" I denied. "And George doesn't like me the way you think, we're friends and we just got closer the past few months, because I've cut all the toxic people off and have more time to spend with my friends." Soph shook her head and sat up, she pressed her fingers against her temples and squinted her eyes before she continued.

"Just a headache, I'm fine," she said, mainly to Sabrina who looked concerned. "The Sochi crash looked stupid, like, George could've easily avoided shorty."

"You're seeing things," I mumbled. "You're just trying to confuse me." I paused for a moment and scratched my head, I needed to watch the replay of the race now. "And even if George likes me, he wouldn't risk the championship for some girl, that'd be immensely stupid."

"He might be stupid, but you, dumbass, are blind," she stated. She walked away, leaving Sabrina and me behind. Her theories made me think, but when it all started to confuse me, I stopped. It just didn't make sense. Sabrina struggled as well expressing her point of view, he did gift me earrings for mums birthday and challenged my boyfriend in basically every game we played.

No. I probably searched things behind it and that would make everything so fucking awkward the next time we saw each other. I blocked the thought out of my head. It just didn't make sense.

A/n: A final chapter before I head back to school again. I'm nervous lmao. Anyways, I'll still be online, just less often.

Lots of love,
Meg❤️
