Chapter Forty-Two

                                    

                                          


                          
Last night had me beaming, Kai loved me, i did the impossible, gained a sociopaths love. I didn't look to far into it because it could just be like a platonic love, not in love. I set it aside however because today was the day we headed home, kai was more excited then i was. We had a plan, stay at mystic fall for one week, whilst Kai got an apartment ready for us in Portland. Yes i had decided to go. 
                          
Then head to Portland together, start fresh. He was excited because i gave him permission to tell the group of our situation, relationship wise. I don't know why he wanted to do it, but i was more then happy of letting him take the tornado that was to be Damon Salvatore. All morning he had been extra preppy.
                          
First a little date to a café for breakfast where he told the waiter multiple times that he planned on ruling over the Gemini with his new girlfriend which he loved, after explaining that the whole concept of love was weird to him before but not now. People where staring at us when he said leader of the Gemini, i told them it was a book club to which had them settled, it did sound like a cult in all fairness.
                          
Next we headed to Starbucks to get a drink for the start of the ride, i had demanded we did, to which kai was all like, fine but don't ask to stop and pee we have places to be. We ordered our drinks eventually but when the names where read out i nearly stabbed him. 
                          
"Kai's girlfriend? I have a Salted Caramel Mocha for kai's girlfriend." 
                          
I eventually got it as people watched me, i smiled and waved very awkwardly as some girls laughed sympathizing with me. That lead to another twenty minute delay as i got to know them leaving kai huffing and puffing. They were lovely and wished us the best for the future.
                          
Finally we were in the car headed back to mystic fall's were i had informed bonnie to be ready for me, and a very energetic ex sociopath. He was singing to the songs the car let out again as i text my sister.

I clicked my phone off deciding to join Kai since he wouldn't shut up, that's how i found my self singing cage the elephant ain't no rest for the wicked, whilst barrelling down the high way. Every now and again I'd offer my drink over to him which he'd sip without averting his eyes from the road. Sure there were a few arguments when a song came on i liked and he didn't, but i won them all so no need to dwell on that.
                          
Eventually we made it to mystic fall's but i was exhausted so i did that thing all little kids do and pretended to be asleep. Of course i couldn't just miraculously fall asleep as we pulled up so i played it for twenty minutes. It took kai five to notice making him turn of the radio and quit singing. Another minute a jacket was placed over me and i had to fight the swoon to maintain my role.
                          
Then we pulled up, he grabbed our bags and took them inside the boarding house before coming back to grab me. Just when i though i was successful as he picked me up he whispered into my ear.
                          
"I know your awake but since you committed so well to the act ill carry you in." I smiled keeping my eyes closed with a chuckle. I snuggled further into his chest as he sat on the sofa with me on top of him.
                          
"Oh look who's back, gremlin and weasel." I dropped my act at damons voice sitting up right to flip him off. Once i got his scowl i laid my head on Kai's legs looking up at the ceiling.
                          
"I was expecting a bigger welcome back party." I grumbled with a smirk as Damon scoffed.
                          
"In all fairness no one expected you to survive your little trip with crazy pants." Kai scoffed at the vampire muttering under his breath.
                          
"Azzy! Your back! How did it go?" The last part was pointed at kai making me raise a brow looking between the two.
                          
"As planned." My suspicion rose as i glare at them both moving to stand with Damon.
                          
"Some things fishy. And i hate fish." I nudged Damon and he nodded pointing a finger at Caroline.
                          
"Spill vampire barbie." He demanded and she smiled.
                          
"We had a bet." That had my brain clicking as i moved out of the room.
                          
"What was it?" Damon asked as i bolted the rest of the way out of the boarding house and down the road hearing his frantic yelling dim the further i got.
                          
Entering mine and Bonnies house i came face to face with her, she wrapped an arm around me and led me into the living room, there sat Elena, mat, Stefan, Damon, Caroline and Kai with a grin.
                          
"Okay but how the fuck did you three get here before me?" I asked slouching in my comfy chair.
                          
"Vamp sped, i carried Kai." Caroline said as Damon continued to glare at me, i paid no attention and went to open my mouth again but Elena cut me off.
                          
"Care told us." Yeah no shit, there seemed to be pattern in the room. All the men were unhappy excluding Kai, and the women seemed full of joy.
                          
"So....?" I asked waiting for someone to elaborate.
                          
"OF ALL THE PEOPLE  YOU CHOOSE THE GUY WHO TRIED TO STAB ME!" I nodded in understanding humming.
                          
"Oh shut up Damon, not everything's about you. He actually stabbed me and I'm happy for Azalea." Bonnie defended and i smirked at the raging vampire. Care was beaming as her and Elena gossiped and kept looking over to kai. He was just swaying happily winking every time Damon glared at him.
                          
"If this is how they react to us dating i can't wait for the rest." Kai smiled at me as Damon snapped his full attention to him then me.
                          
"What else?!" He quipped as everyone's eyes looked to us in confusion.
                          
"I'm- movhftoprlend" I mumbled smiling innocently.
                          
"Az." Stefan smirked and i huffed.
                          
"I'm movntoprlnd" "She's moving to Portland with me!"
