Jungkook was making breakfast, he was worried about his boyfriend who had been quite subdued since the meeting with Kai at Euphoria. They'd spoken a lot about his relationship with Kai after that and it couldn't have been more positive because he understood more now and Tae was able to open up. It was difficult to hear some of it but the most difficult part to hear was that Tae withheld so much because he hadn't wanted to make Jungkook feel bad. He knew that Jungkook silently punished himself a lot for everything he missed out on in recent years, so Tae thought that the last thing he needed was to have it spelled out for him, especially when it involved Tae being relatively happy with someone else.

But he had been quiet, perhaps a little more clingy too and Jungkook wondered if he was simply nervous about tonight's fashion show. The story had been put out by Kai's company as a taster and it had sparked even more interest, with Euphoria trending on social media for 24 hours after the story went live. He so badly wanted everything to go perfectly at the fashion show and he didn't know how to act whilst there, his insecurities coming into play. He was worried about being affectionate but at the very least wanted to hold Tae's hand and show him support. He was worried about Tae seeing Kai and how he would be left feeling.

Jungkook couldn't dislike Kai after Tae had spoken in detail about their relationship. He was a mixture of emotions as he listened to Tae describe the places they visited and the things they'd experienced together, all the time knowing that it should have been him and not Kai. He felt jealous and upset at so many first experiences that he missed out on and it enraged him that his parents still couldn't see what they had done. The jealousy and sadness gave way to comfort as Tae told him about the person Kai is and Jungkook understood why Tae felt so bad for hurting him when the only mistake Kai made was falling in love with him.

Whilst they spoke, they realised that to a certain extent, Tae had also reverted to a different persona, it just hadn't been as conscious as the person Jungkook became. Tae became more of a shadow of the person he was before that day at the airport and it was only really now that he was beginning to see it for himself, unlocking emotions and parts of himself that had been locked away.

Jungkook wanted to speak to Tae about his birthday, also because he wanted them to take some time out together to start making new memories whilst discovering the people they were now. They hadn't had time to focus on them, it was usually about the divorce, work, parents or the pain they have both experienced. He loved their friends and family but he wanted his birthday to be different. He also wanted to try a couple of things sexually that he'd been dreaming about but wasn't entirely confident he was brave enough as he blushed at just thinking about it.

He walked to the bedroom with the omelette he'd just made along with two glasses of fresh juice, Mr Moon had given Tae the morning off so he could relax and get ready for the show later, needing to get there early to meet with Kai.

When he entered the bedroom, Tae was still asleep so he placed the breakfast on the bedside cabinet and slipped out of his bathrobe and back into bed. Tae was laying on his back, stirring slightly as Jungkook pressed himself to him, leaving dainty kisses along his jaw and running his hand over his chest. He loved mornings like this, when Tae was sleepy and he could watch him, gently touch his skin and kiss him awake. It was usually Tae who was awake first and Jungkook often woke in the morning with his boyfriend staring at him.

As the pads of his fingers glided over Tae's skin, he transported himself back to that day at the airport, he wondered how long before he wouldn't feel the pain that accompanied those thoughts. He could never have known at that time that it would be as long as it was before he got to see Tae again, he had fully expected to return sooner.

In those early days when they didn't have a care in the world, he hadn't taken the time to appreciate his boyfriend, to memorize every part of his body, the sound of his heart beat, the soft noises he made while sleeping. His scent was something that he was able to take with him thanks to the hoodie... he thought about how he used to spend time in his closet and now didn't feel the need to do that at all, the irony of being in the closet not escaping him.
