1 month had gone by. I had gotten a letter from Julie and Charlotte confirming what I had known to already be true. Draco and I were closer than ever and I ditched the Gryffindors to become what I should have long ago, the Slytherin Princess. No word from Harry, the timer is running out and he won't have any time to propose by the time he gets back. Which I had to admit I was okay with. I still had feelings for Harry but they had been dulled by the constant laughter and fun that I have with Draco. Draco had my bags moved to his room, ever since that night I had been there to help him sleep. His friends soon became my friends, and now what can I say, we have truly become a force to be reckoned with.
I walked into Potions and slid to sit next to Draco.
"I haven't seen you all day, protecting me is taking more time?" I had noticed he would slip away for longer periods of time in the past 3 days.
"The boys are coming in waves now, they are a full time job princess," he joked and I wrapped my arms around his head and pulled mine close to his. I could tell he was struggling to breathe in a steady pattern.
"In a couple months, I'd like to see them try to take me away," I smiled at him and kissed his forehead. We had used our almost arranged marriage as a joke most of the time, and our friends knew about it as well. Snape stormed into the classroom, as he normally did, and began class.
"Today we are working on Draught of living death, now get onto it," he waved his hand aimlessly and moved to walk about the classroom. Draco and I of course got it done first and done well.
"Draco, somethings bothering you," I stated the obvious.
"I- I am fine, really," he said halfheartedly.
"What is it,"I knew I was pressing on a topic he didn't want to talk about.
"Go away Y/N, honestly," he huffed and stood up, he grabbed his bags and stormed out of the classroom. So naturally I followed him. I snatched by bags and grabbed his arm once we were in the hallway.
"Damn it Malfoy I want to help. Don't be arrogant, whatever your dealing with your about to have to deal with it alone. Tell. Me," I stared into his silvery blue eyes.
"Don't do this, Merlin your so clingy. I can't even get a second alone without you being there. I just needed time for myself or with my friends without you," he barked at me. I half heartedly laughed.
"All right. I'll leave you alone. So sorry for the inconvenience. Hope your mind catches up with your ego soon before you ruin something more than a meaningless friendship," I whipped my hair, slapping his face and walked to the dormitories, it was the last class of the day anyhow, and I wasn't hungry for dinner.
"Hey you, ya, I'm Y/N Fireblood, I need my bags moved to the girls dormitory. Slytherin," I motioned to a house elf and she just vigorously nodded and scurried our of the hallway. I then walked to my new, well I guess old bed and collapsed. Soon five fourth years came in and saw me sitting. They practically ran over to my bed.
"Oh my Merlin, did you move back to our dormitory? Ugh I knew that Malfoy would mess up somehow," the redhead who was clearly the ringleader talked first.
"Tell us all about it. Unless. Well the Slytherin princess doesn't feel hurt. That's been a rumour, I'd believe it, your totally cool. You spend four minutes with some guys and they are wrapped around your finger," the brunette on the side smiled at me.
"Well girls, it's true, it all is. I don't let idiots hurt my feelings because soon they will feel worse for losing the girl that runs the whole school. The trick is confidence," I enjoyed speaking to kids who idolized me so. Soon I was giggling hearing about these boys that they fancied and telling them about things I've encountered given that my family is so famous.
By the time we were going to bed I felt much better about the Malfoy situation. That was until about 2 at night when I heard yelling from the boys dormitories. Malfoy. I got out of bed and walked to the common room, where around 12 girls and 10 guys were standing. Everyone confused about what was happening. I sighed and stood on a chair."Everybody listen up. Shut the hell up and go to sleep. I'll deal with our prince," everyone nodded and retired to their rooms. I walked up the boys dormitory stairs, I rarely got any glances anymore given that I used to sleep up there every night. I opened Malfoys door and saw him tossing and turning in his bed. I pushed myself onto his bed and sat leaning on the headboard, then started stroking his hair just as I was so used to. His eyes opened and saw me.
"It's okay, you're okay," I nodded at him.
"You- you were dead. Merlin he had you, and I couldn't. I couldn't move. I couldn't protect you. I needed to protect you. I watched you collapse to the ground. I'm so sorry," he sobbed out.
"I'm here now. I don't plan on going anywhere," I replied and I lifted the covers and slid under them, taking up my usual position.
"Your bags, they were gone. You were gone. I messed up, Merlin I messed up," I nodded.
"Ready to tell me why you were being a bitch earlier,"
"I- damn it Y/N," he looked at me and sat up, I followed suit. He looked down at me and lifted my chin up with his fingers. He then leaned down and kissed me. Before I knew it I was kissing him back. It was Malfoy. I didn't want Potter I wanted Malfoy. All along it was Malfoy. We pulled apart for air. He was waiting for my reaction.
"I- I really had no idea. Are you sure?" I didn't know what else to say.
"I'm sorry that was wrong. I really shouldn't have. I mean your still dating Potter,"
"Not for long," I grabbed his face and kissed him again. I felt a smirk against my lips.
"Well well well, looks like I stole Potters
Girl,"
