Chapter Forty

                                    

                                          


                          
The next day started great, some room service and watching the early birds walk about the streets to begin. I watched as the artists laid out their canvas's and prepared their paints until two arms looped around my waist kissing my neck gently from behind as i held my steaming coffee.
                          
"I'm thinking we ditch the Mitchel's and go to the beach, get you in a bikini." Kai teased trailing his hand along my stomach lifting my top up.
                          
"Once I'm done i promise we'll spend the next few days here alone together." He smiled continuing his soft butterfly kisses.
                          
"Then i can get you out of the bikini as well." I chuckled slapping his arm as i entered the room grabbing my clothes for the day, reluctantly he did the same. Making sure he wore his intimidation trench coat.

We were told to meet at some old church and kai was immediately fascinated, apparently it was a spot for mass murder. Davina had met up with us and explained that she use to live here which freaked me out. The stench of death wafted around this place like it did around vampires. 
                          
Heading to the attic where Davina once resided we found a very pale man with a missing thumb and a very nasty looking hex. I sat beside him and almost instantly was he declaring his murderous intentions and seething. 
                          
"It's like an exorcism. Your not gonna spew black smoke are you?" I asked the guy who just grit his teeth and yelled in my face, I'll take that as a firm no. Pulling his sleeve up i was greeted with a raging rashy mark lining his skin. Not likening the look of it i pulled the shirt back down.
                          
"The good news is the irritated red really matches your skin colour." Klaus scoffed from behind me and i rolled my eyes placing my hands on the guys wrist avoiding the gross patch of skin, i swear it was looking at me funny. 
                          
I started siphoning feeling the dark magic flow into my veins, the blonde behind me gasped watching as the mark dissolved from the man's skin, unnoticed to everyone else except me, it appeared on my wrist making me tug my long sleeved top down. She was crying as the guy calmed and mark slowly slipped away. Wincing in pain i had tried to keep concealed i continued to siphon.
                          
Kai glanced to me swiftly and then my grip on my sleeve before he ripped my clothes up my arm revealing the mark. His eyes widened as he detached my hand from the patient. The hex swiftly re-emerged on his skin leaving mine as kai grumbled under his breath.
                          
"Why did you stop her it was working!" The blonde whimpered out moving to her uncle.
                          
"It wasn't removing the hex, it was transferring it." Kai spat out unleashing his anger on the blonde as he rubbed a thumb over my now clear skin.
                          
"To who? Azalea?" Klaus asked looking over my wrist as well as i pulled it back.
                          
"What where you thinking?!" Kai scolded glaring at my arm. Shrugging i looked to the weeping blonde.
                          
"I thought saving a priest would get me a ticket to heaven." I smiled innocently as Kai's eyes snapped to mine.
                          
"Not the time, you know how badly that could have ended?!" He continued so seethe telling me off.
                          
"A little insanity here and there then unavoidable homicide and suicide?" I asked waiting for the bomb to blow, the blood vessel in Kai's head was ready to burst.
                          
"Exactly! And you still did it! Get up were leaving." He pulled me up and i shot Klaus an apologetic look but he also didn't look very happy with me. Smile and wave boys smile and wave.

Kai had spent the rest of the day avoiding me. Clearly still a little pissed about my sudden selfless act. I was very bored as i watched everyone having the time of there lives in the quarter, me being on room arrest as kai sulked in the bedroom.
                          
"Kai get your trunks out! Where going to the beach or I'm hopping off the balcony and joining a circus!" I heard him grumble and shuffle around in the room before he came out with a bag over his shoulder and a very grumpy expression on his face. I pouted walking up to him.
                          
"Are you still mad about earlier?" I tilted my head and he gave me a very exasperated - your kidding - look.
                          
"If i let you pick my swimming clothes will you just forget about it already?" He grumbled incoherently whilst i sighed and whined. He rolled his eyes before going back into the room. Once he came out he had a two piece purple bikini. The top was simple just a normal sports bra shaped bikini but the pants where tied and had laced criss crossing over the abdomen.
                          
Arriving at the beach was a relief, kai had been scolding me the whole walk but promised to drop it as soon as we hit the sand. That lead to him walking at such a slow pace i felt like face planting the floor. When i felt the sand hit my toes i moaned attracting odd looks from who ever was at the beach at night.
                          
I instantly headed for the water as kai trailed behind me.
                          
"You know if you had finished what you started earlier you wou-" I shushed him holding my finger up.
                          
"Were at the beach so shut up or I'll drowned you." He chuckled as he picked me up, i squealed at the sudden movement and tried to latch onto him as he ran to the water, unfortunately i wasn't quick enough as he threw me into the water. 
                          
The sheer coldness of it had me gasping as i resurfaced.
                          
"Oh you are so single!" Was the first thing to sprout from my mouth once i regained oxygen, he ignored me laughing to himself with his feet in the water. Whilst he was occupied i grabbed his legs pulling him under which i instantly regretted. Due to the fact when he came up he headed for me immediately, influencing me to swim further out.
